I'm looking for any and all help I can get because I'm contemplating moving to OR in January.

I'm an experienced drywall finisher so I will also be looking for a job!
If I cannot find a job with drywall I'm looking for any kind of apprenticing/entry level job that will pay around $15/hour.

Any and all informative help would be greatly appreciated by myself!

not sure why youd want to live in salem. there are A LOT of places in oregon and washington id rather live....take a look around for sure.

Portland would be a better place to be because it's just like Seattle 10yrs. ago and is going to continue to get huge. (new construction etc.) Take a look at places like Bend, OR where all the California money is going...Klamath Falls etc. It's getting crazy and will continue to do so as people bail out of California for various reasons.

In the valley, West Linn, Bethany, and Lake Oswego are growing the fastest, but that will prolly taper off soon. Salem should have steady growth for a while.

salem is growing at a pretty good pace right now. our house is up 40k in 2 years.

I'd stay away from Salem, the meth problem there is so huge that its in the news daily. If you have a family, stay away. Check out Portland and other bigger towns, they are much nicer.

Sorry to get your hopes up...he isn't looking to hire anyone right now as a lot of his work has turned into restoration work etc.

Good luckHave you looked at the newspapers yet? Lots on the meth problems there. I'd seriously look elsewhere in Oregon. Oregon is my home and I love the place, I highly recommend it to the OP, but not Salem.
