Hey guys... wanted to invite the local members to join up for the drive I have organized. Let's try to ignore the **inter-forum issues** and have a nice fun, scenic drive. Hope some of you all can make it.
I will start out by saying that this does NOT need to be a substitute for balls-to-the-wall track events. We can enjoy the roads without going more than double the speed limit. There is really no need to go 90+ on two lane roads Things were just getting too dangerous.
That said, we can still have a lot of fun. There shouldn't be much traffic on these roads since they are out of the way and it's in between the holidays.
I'm going to hold the start at the Park & Ride at the intersection of Route 4 and Route 408 in Wayson's Corner, MD. You can get there easily by taking Route 4 East from 495. We're going to drive through Anne Arundel (briefly), Prince George's, Calvert, and St. Mary's counties.
This drive will be long, between 100-150 miles. We will have probably a couple breaks for photos and food. I intend to get started around 10 so that we have plenty of driving time. These roads are beautiful and well-paved, and they are definitely worth spending an entire day exploring.
I'll have individual route sheets so that everyone can follow along and hopefully people won't get lost even if they get separated from the group.
What: Holiday Drive
When: Saturday, December 28, 2002
Where: Park & Ride at the intersection of Route 4 and Route 408 in Wayson's Corner, MD. Follow the signs off the exit to the P&R. Using mapquest, just get directions to the intersection of 4 & 408.
Time: 10am
Please respond if you're coming so that I know how many cars to expect.
