My x5 remote keyless entry fuse keeps blowing. I buy a new fuse, go to replace the old one and immediately upon contact the new fuse sparks and blows. I have read that this might be linked to the motor in the gas door. Is there a way to disconnect the motor to the gas door so I can replace my fuse and get my remote keyless entry working again? Please help!!!

I'm not a big DIYer so the more detailed the response, the better!

correct. replace the solinoid for the gas flap lid, and all will be fixed.

I'm not exactly sure how to "replace the solinoid", can you give me more instruction?

Thank you so much for your help, you are saving me a TON of money (I'm sure) :)

no asswipe. im not going to hold everyones hand, if i give them the answer, or help them with a problem on a car. most people just ask the question with out searching around for similar problems. im sure there is a write up or repair instructions on how to replace it. if not, common sense and a t-20 torx will get you in trouble with it :laugh

so chill out.
