This happened to me not once or twice but three times in the past week, apparently someone who lives near me has a MkIV Golf which looks totally stock except for a cursive Turbo logo on the back and aftermarket rims, anyways his car is very fast and since I appreciate finely tuned machines, the second and third times that I met up with this guy I sort of egged him on knowing full well that my stock 318is was far from a match lol, but this story is about the first time that I met up with him.

I was driving home late at night about 2 weeks ago now when all of a sudden there's an M5 who comes barreling up behind me, I think he's about to rear end me so I speed up but next thing I know his guy swerves to the left and goes onto a freeway onramp from the far RIGHT lane! I think to myself 'probably drunk' and keep going not realizing that I'm doing like 60 in a 35 zone, anyways I come up to where 2 lanes merge into 1 and at the last second this silver MkIV Golf comes blasting by me at what must've been like 75-80. I downshift and try to keep up mostly for fun but within seconds he's way way out front and charging up a hill and I have to turn left to go home. Not a very interesting story but I was anxious to make my first post so there you go :)

318 are fun, high revving, mostly made with manual, they are a drivers car :)

Hey someone else from La Jolla...

Yeah, it's not like I had much of a choice when buying this car, my cousin wasn't willing to pay to fix all the things wrong with it (A/C doesn't work, heater randomly comes on and cannot be shut off, didn't pass smog test, there is a HUGE 4" wide by 12"+ long gash on the right rear quarter panel that looks like someone poured paint thinner on the car or something lol, plus many other minor but nagging problems) and he decided instead to buy my other cousin's (his sister) C230k that was about 2 years old since she didn't need it any more.

Anyways, I got it for about $1,500 and my dad's paying to get it totally fixed (and he bought it in the first place too) so it's quite nice for a free car, I'm only 16 after all and my last car was a 1991 Mercedes 300E which I hated.

What has been said above is totally true, it is a blast to drive and handles like a dream, this engine loves to be revved up, but often times you just can't keep up with cars putting out more power, which at my age is a good thing I guess.

Only 16 and already have owned a benz and a bimmer, pretty sweet deal you got going there even if they aren't that fast.

I'm definitely not complaining lol, 16 years and 10 years old but they're still great cars, both of them, sure the Benz is slow as hell and a nightmare through corners, but that's where the Bimmer comes in lol.
