I've been drivng around for the past 3 months without a front plate (or a front plate holder). I bumped it off when I tried to pull straight out of a parking spot that had one of those blocks in the front. Since then I got new plates (replaced the rear one) and I have a new front plate and a holder, but I've never gotten around to putting it on.

Now the fact that nothing has happened in three months is making me want to keep the car clean in the front. I was thinking just putting in the license plate delete piece, but I'd really love to have a euro plate in the front. Would attract too much attention from the cops? Has anyone rode with one successfully in NJ?

Oh and someone on bimmerfest was talking about registering his car in PA because tints are legal. Do you have to own a house where you register your car? How does it work?

Most likley you have to have a relative with residence in PA that can say that you live with them or something, Im not sure but that would seem like a definate..With the front plate it really depends on what town you live in, if you've been driving around for 3 months with no front plate I say just get the Euro Plate...it's not a big loss of cash if they bother you for it...

I live in PA and work in Jersey, all of my personal cars are registered in PA. insurance is cheaper, tints are legal to a certain percentage and I don't have to drive around with an ugly front plate.

if you want to 'move' to PA, you better be straight with your paper work since you can get into serious legal trouble. you'll also want to get a PA license etc. I've noticed that NJ police love to pick on PA plated cars so you'll also have that to worry about too.

I used to drive around without the front plate, but got nailed twice
$240.00 later I gave up.

its $53 for the ticket, and in my experiences i found that the euro plate caught to much attention, i never got pulled over with the delete strip, but go pulled over twice for the euro plate.

Ive had mine on for like 9 months..no problem, only once did a cop say anything, and i said that i got rear ended and lost the rear plate, so put the front plate on the rear and decided to put something on the front for the time being.. he bought it.

I ended up just getting the regular plate-- didn't want to hassle with tickets
