here's the story as best I can recall. Today there's was an M5 meet in Boca and figured what the hell i'll show up in my 318i a BMW is a BMW right?
Lowered the boost before I left since my clutch is slipping.
I pulled up to the meeting place and parked on the opposite side, didn't want to park my eyesore next to all the glisting M5's. We all have lunch and decide to get coffee afterwards so I follow.
So as we pull out onto a 3 lane road and the three M5's ahead of me punch it, I was about 5 cars behind and figured WTF, down shift into 2nd shift @8k grab 3rd and start pulling fierce and had to switch to the right lane since it was open, I grab 4th and just steam roll right past them. I hit the brakes to slow and a blue one pulls up next to me wanting some more, I down shift punch it and pulled ahead how much I dont know maybe a car, then OH SHIT a red light:eyecrazy
start down shifting and pumping the brakes and manage to stop almost into the intersection.
I can see the Blue M5 in my side view mirror about a car and a half behind and hear him rev a little like a wolf ready to devour a sheep. Light turns green I hesitate to make it somewhat fair, launch around 3k, end of first he's half a car ahead, I grab 2nd tire's loosen up and the back end gets a little squirrley, keep my foot planted all the way to 8k, were even, grab 3rd and start to pull ahead, grab 4th and it's obvious he ain't catchin up, we shut it down.
I know the M wasn't stock, it had exhaust, CAI, and reflash chip I think.

Anyway great runs and great group of guys, thanks for the runs:buttrock

There are only 2 or 3 E39 M5's in the entire state of Maryland and I'm one of them (I'm probably wrong, but you don't see this car AT ALL). When I went to Cali to visit family, everyone and their mother was driving either an E46 M3 or E39 M5. They were a dime a dozen over there.

I wish we had meets like that.

I've only seen one M5 other than mine and it was a carbon black with an old lady driving it :(

Don't hate on the old ladies, some of em know what they're doing. Unless you meant like 70 years old or something.

there are at least 3 e39 m5s in owings mills area alone. 1- some old guy in a suit was driving it (carbon black), 2 - white m5 with 40 y.o. woman, and a baby seat in the back. 3 - girl in her 20s, going 120 on 795, between cars, then passing some more using emergency lane - i was in love!!!

so you're m5 #4 :)

ohh forgot --also saw a silver m5 aroudn ex 4 off 795 witha hot ass blonde girl driving it!

The woman was like a grandmother, easily in her deep 60's.

:stickoutt They invited everyone so it's not like it was M5 specific.
Just wondering what does a modded M5 put down with exhuast, CAI, and chipped or reflash ECU?

FWIW, I put down 331rwhp/319rwtq bone stock with 39K miles.

Some guys with that mod combo and a nice tune are putting down ~355rwhp on a good day.

The real power gains for this car are the headers and cams, then you're talking well over 400rwhp (but DAMN is it pricey, ask me how I know).

Sounds fun. I wish I could do that...but anyway, I've seen quite a few M5's around. E39 and E60's. They seem to be pretty popular with the rich folk in MD.

I know two guys with E39 M5's here in Maryland. I don't see M5's often but there are a few running around.
