Subject: FS: 1982 E21 Alpina B6 2.8 w/5spd **SOLD**

CAR HAS BEEN SOLD (I think this is a record..gone in only a couple hours!)...THANKS FOR THE LARGE AMOUNT OF INTEREST IN THE CAR....

For Sale: '82 e21 Alpina B6 2.8 w/5spd close ratio dogleg gearbox. 1,200 original kilometers. The car is a project...I rescued it from a junkyard about five years ago and it's been stored in a barn in NH ever since. It will need a complete restoration.

History - The car was bought new by a US serviceman while stationed in Germany in 1982. The guy shipped the car back over to the states the following year and tragically was killed in a car accident in 1984 (not in the alpina). The car was kept by his wife garaged and not used up until around 1990, where upon it was removed from the garage and stored outside. While sitting for ten years unused outdoors, the car rotted badly and the women sent it to the junkyard in 2001. Fortunetly the junkyard owner is a friend of mine who contacts me about every BMW he takes in...so I immediatly bought the car from him when I saw it.

The car is a late '82 and has the 218 hp six in it. I don't know the number off hand but only 533 (I think) were built...The car is 2 1/2 hrs from me in Concord, NH in a friend's barn...I can have him check the number on the dash plaque...there is also an alpina vin plate under the hood. The car has a 5spd close ratio gearbox with the dogleg first gear. There are only 1200 original KM's on the car, so the tranny would be a great addition to someone's race car. The engine does not turn over and appears siezed from sitting...

The car is pretty much a rat..the floors and rockers are totally rotted as the car was sitting on dirt with grass growing up around it for a decade. The roof, hood and trunk have considerable surface rust and rust holes in places. The alpina graphics are there but are cracked and partially missing. Front airdam is broken...looks like a lawn mower or something took it out...also the euro chrome bumpers are rusted badly. Interior is decent...recaro seats are mint....dash is cracked, and mice have been inside at some point.

I tracked down the women who junked it and was able to sucure all the documents she had for the car...these include the title and the import papers. I faxed the vin number to Alpina in europe and they confirmed the car to be a legitimate alpina b6. I have the fax and will include it in the sale.

The price for this rare car is 1,500 obo..no shipping..it's in Concord, NH so bring your trailer. The seats and tranny are worth more than my asking price alone. Alpina diff and wheels have been removed and will not be included in sale. Car currently sits on late model 2002 13" steelies with rotted tires. I have no pics currently..I will try to get some for those interested.

Too bad the dick took the rims and diffie b4 the sale, but that could be a cool project if someone had the nads and $$ to restore it. 1200KMs- I wonder if it was really frozen?
