Okey I am smelling gas vapor coming from my car?? I notice this when I first took my car into the dealership to have my Inspection 2 and notice that when I took it home i smell gas vapor. I thought well maybe its a new fuel filter and needs time to settle in.. But its been a week now and the vapor is getting stronger.. Did anyone have this problem after they get Inspection 2 done?? Thanks for your assistance

Inspection 2 includes replacing the fuel filter and inspecting the entire fuel system. If there is a problem, they SHOULD have found it. Have you called them on it yet?
If they are going to charge you to look at it (which would be BS) I would look around for something easy first, mainly the hose clamps on each side of the fuel filter. It could be that they are not tight, or not even there (hey, don't laugh...I know a person who took a car for an oil change and they forgot to put oil in it...that is why I try to do all my own work)

Production is the way these places make money. with all thecars they see, no wonder they forget some things.
I've not had a problem with my car (although since the second week of ownership, I've tended to it myself, for the last 7 months), but my Laverda M/C is a different story.
Same with a Ducati i bought 10 years ago. In for service under warranty the first month and my fuel line comes loose on the freeway spilling gas all over my engine. I didn't notice it untill I got off of the fwy and stopped at a light.
Again with the Lav., had it in for painting after an accident and the joker(s) at the dealership, didn't reconnect the fuel line inside the tank to the filter properly, NO clamp! Different mechanics.
Check connection to the pump at the tank, under the seat, I think. Also the connections at the filter.
Is the smell stronger with the windows up or down?
If the former, the fuel pump connection is likely, although I don't think it's part of the Insp.II.
Check any other line connections you can think of. :)

I contacted the Dealership, I have to drop the car off for them.. But you can smell the vapor after I drive the car. its coming from the rear area??? not inside the car but outside the car.. If I can do this myself, I would prefer but since I paid them over $600 for the service they should at least do the job right. I would expect this kind of services from a indepen store. Other questions can i still drive the car. I don't want to drive and suddenly flame shooting out the rear of the car.. that would not be tooo good

There are o-rings that seal the sending units and fuel pump to the top of the fuel tank. They tend to dry out and leak. You can access them by removing the rear seat bottom and the cover panels underneath.

The fuel filter is under the driver side floor board. There's a metal plate/cover over it. Pop it off and check the clamps.

Look inside your gas lid and see if there's a puddle of gas sitting in that area right below the fill hole. There is a pocket there that can collect gas after you fill up. I had a problem just like you and found this was the issue.

Outside of what's under the hood, the fuel system shouldn't be that hard to trace for leaks.
Can you start up the car and let it idle while you look for leaks underneath? You shouldn't have that much trouble trying to diagnose it if you poke around a bit. I would DEFINITELY look to the hose clamps on the filter.
I'm not familiar with any 3-series...but the fuel system is typically a pretty simple critter.
If you're a smoker, you might want to kick the habit while you're trying to figure it out-- :)
