Is it true that an officer requires a tint meter in order to give you a ticket for tints? Also, this is in New York.

The cop must prove kxl77's tints are illegal. In regards to the tint question, the officer must have a meter to verify in court. He can still issue the summons for the infraction but it will most likely be dismissed by the judge once in court! -SAL FullyLoaded330 11-08-2006, 08:15 PM When I got pulled over two weeks ago I was harassed for a good ten minutes about tint laws etc. Yes my tint is illegal, He knew it. He did not pull out a meter or anything...But I was let off with a written warning. This was in NJ. When I lived in NY cops NEVER bothered me about tint or anything for that matter. |
