trunk

:rofl
I was distracted re-attaching my battery terminal, while loading groceries, and doing fuckin' tech support on my phone with a guy in Ukraine.

called BMW and they said the only thing they can do is tow if to a dealer.

good thing my interior was open, but bad thing that I lost my trunk release button during my interior work.

I found a way to get into the trunk with 1 hand, and had to pull out 6 bags full of groceries through a hole thats about 3" x 6". Thats 1 item at a time :rofl

then I still couldn't feel the keys in the trunk, but FINALLY realised that there's a trunk release handle on the inside of the trunk. wow, should'a done that BEFORE pulling out the groceries :rofl

anyway, I get the trunk open, and find my keys on the battery. which is under the carpet anyway. Good thing I found that release handle.

PM me if you run into the same problem, I don't want to discuss how easy it is to get into the trunk from the interior publically.

total time 1 hour, 30 minutes

Might have been easier to bring to the dealership, all they need is to hook the car up from the ODBII port and send a signal for the lock to release.

it was 9pm, dealer closed, and tow truck would come in 2 hours. Dealer is 45 minutes away. How is this easier?

Sorry. I'll rephrase. If it was middle of the day with a quick tow to the dealership, you can remotely release the trunk lock if you can access the ODB II port.

But I guess if the windows are rolled up and no access to the interior of the car can be had...Oh well.
