does anyone here have a 6 series or an M6?
my dad has a '78 636CSi (w/ 5 speed Manual Transmission). First year (of course) and they only made 250 that year.
my dad's gonna buy an M6 (not sure wat year but its rite down the street and also has a 4 Speed Manual Transmission).

with all due respect... I don't think so.
the first year for the six series was 1976 and it was a 630CSi.
5-speeds weren't available on US six series automobiles until 1982.
and an M6 wouldn't have a four speed unless the owner changed it from the originally installed 5-speed.
productions numbers are available from a couple sources. I have the February 2002 Roundel open to page 54 right now.

Further, the 3.5 M30 was not available in the 6 in the US until 1985, everything with a 3.5 that you see B4 85 is a Euro model import.
I need to join BMWCCA so I can get a back order of that feb issue-

Your dad can join BMW CCA and get you an associate membership.
