Well i was on my way home from the shop today, and at a light a Red Integra pulled up next to me. Had his window rolled down a bit, and he revved his engine at me. So i knew what was going to happen. The kid looked to be about 17. So the light turns green and we take off. I get a good jump on him from the start. And keep the 1-2 car length lead. I slow down, he keeps on going and does the ricer fly by, loud exhaust and all, and keeps going about 90ish. I slow down and about 15 seconds later look up ahead and see a cop pulling out and lights flashing. He then pulls the Integra over. I love 4wd and torque. All this in my little e30 that i payed so little for.

And i know it was a GSR because of the DOHC VTEC badge on the back of the car.

Your car may have torque in comparison to the gsr, but 3-series in general dont have a lot of torque.

i know this, but compared to any honda 4cyl a 3series has a lot of torque. Ive had a few hondas, and a few BMW's and theres no comparison

I suppose so, but both my borthers have 5.0 mustangs. So i have nothing compared to them, and i hate it. Thats whey im building that 442 (in my sig). It should have some torque.

Anyone can buy a badge, slap it on and call it a VTEC.

The Integra driver probably sucked as well.

Good kill. Integra should be easy kill from stop to ix.
Ix is monster off the line but dies at higher speeds.

What was the speed when you slowed down?

The 2.5 I6s don't really have that much torque. I am not sure on the e30, but the M50 I have only has 181. Just because you can dump it from a higher rpm and launch well doens't mean you have torque. This doesn't even sound like it was a race either. nice kill anyways

Nothing, just the m50. I realy dont know how fast it is, i realy think it is a mid 14. It probobly isnt a low 14. I dont know why everyone says 14.2, a 14.286 is basicly a 14.3. I didnt actualy run that time, it was my older borther (i was in the car also). He is more agresive on launches and can shift faster. My best was a 14.48 or somthing.
I dont know what you launch at, but my older brother launched my car at 4200. With a lot of clutch slipping, it makes the best launch.
I am almost sure my car is lower than a 14.8, because i know i can walk a stock 328.

Well you all can think what you want, it definately looked like a GSR because of the wheels and i heard Vtec, since a stock LS b18 doesnt have vtec then im sure it was a gsr, and the exhaust could very well have been a can and thats it. Im definately not new to the BMW's since ive had 7. And ive had a few Hondas also. I got up to about 75 before i slowed down because of a turn. I know how most of the Honda tuners are around here, because a few years back i was one of them. So dont really care what you think if it was BS. Im sharing my story, and i also know how to launch my car, and i have a turner chip, and an ansa exhaust. I also know a little bit about cars, ive had quite a few of them and i work in the automotive industry. I deal with BMW's everyday. Anyway this is my story, i know what happened, what i was racing, and by the way the iX is not my only car im not someone who thinks my e30 can beat e46 M3's. I know what the car is capable of. And the iX has no where near as much torque as my 540i/6 used to have, but i dont have that anymore thanks to a lady, her Yukon, and a redlight she ran.

Was the GS-R an automatic? This isn't too far fetched as the GS-R is listed as roughly a mid 15 sec 1/4 and the 325ix a couple tenths slower. The Integra is FWD and if the 325ix bites him off the line then I could see that 1-2 car pull. He did say he held it there and not continuing to put 6-7 car legnths. Who knows if they went to 110 what would have happened, but save those high speed runs for a track instead of city streets!

BTW, the g-tech is not very accurate. If you want to see if you can really run a 14.2 @ 98mph, take it to a track for a couple runs. This was mentioned so many times, and I feel you don't want to because the times will definetely be much slower.

Hey awahl, just for general info. Do you think that your 325ix can take your 540i 6-speed off the line? Say in an 1/8th of a mile which is essentially a 0-75mph or 0-80mph race. Would the 325ix be up by 1-2 car legnths, or would it be sucking exhaust from the 540. Reason I ask is a poster claims his stock 325ix can beat M3's and M5's in an 1/8th mile race because the 325ix is faster off the line.

GSR makes what 126 ft/lbs of torque, it's possible he killed it if the kid coulnd't drive. But you would of had him in the twiesties no doubt :D

Yeah im pritty sure. My freind has a 328, when i had just air filter and exhaust i tied him (when he had air filter).
Then he got an m50 and i got chip and fan delete and we tied.
Now he has the shark injector and he will pull like 5 cars at 120. So i dont know how many cars he beats me by in the 1/4.
What is up with the 14.48, i was saying that was my best, my older brother ran the faster times. Regardless it is my car.

Means i co-own an automotive repair shop for used car dealers, we have contracts with a couple large used car dealerships doing their work for them. And also the shop we took over only serviced German cars in the past so we picked up some of their previous customers.

-God, that is actually pretty impressive results but I guess the chip helps. For some reason people say it doesn't do much on an M3, other than removing the limiter, what I have read here is it doesn't do much for performance on the M3's.

yeah the chip helps out in the mid range alot...whoever thinks that an e30 iX can beat m3's and m5's is dumb. The only reason i bought my iX is because i needed something to get around in the snow in. Since I had sold my Grand Cherokee last spring. Anyway I miss my 540i it was a beast

This argument has already started and ended like 5 times. The only reason the story might change, is i dont go as far into detail. I am sick of the argument. I really want to go to the track, but i have bad motor mounts. I dont have sub frame reinforcments either. Next year you can count on me going to the track, but i will probobly have the benifit of wheels and tires so whatever.

who has a stock gsr, they are so much easier to pull power from than the m20. i have an ix and i know that i WILL no doubt get beaten by a gsr. A gsr will run a rwd e30 w/ a few mods. the guy not being able to drive the car is really the only hope. now a stroker or turbo ix, totally new game.

just for reference, I ran a gsr and a h22 powered prelude, put a 1.5 cl on the gsr up to 100, and lost by about 1.5-2cl to the luda. This was with my 2.7i m20, in a lightened 318 chassis. I put down 133whp/146ft/tq. With the m52 neither one will have a chance without some big mods.
