Dont worry - i have read the manual!

I have had my z4Mcoupe for 3 days and now get warning lights.
It bleeps and the following 3 lights appear at the same time (al in amber)

Traction control
Brake system
Flat tyre

They come on with no regularity and dissapear when the ignition is switched off and restarted.

I called BMWroadside help and they said that there was no issue if the lights were not red.

Does anyone know what it means or what i can do to resolve it. The car is due to go into the dealer on Monday for them to look at it

thanks in advance

it's certainly not supposed to do that for any reason. it sounds like a harmless electric malfunction. they'll probably reset the on board 'puter and that'll fix it is my guess.
i believe in the older models the DSC and brake (!) would light up simultanously under a certain traction mode but not with the tire pressure. btw have you checked your tire pressure physically just to make sure?

have you tried to hold down the DSC button for 5-10 seconds and see what happens? try that with the brake and the DSC button next to your heated seat button.
by the way if u try this make sure u try it w/ engine off and key positin 1.

thanks for the tip - I'll try it this afternoon. It was just a bit scary in a 3 day old motor!

This thread is a couple years old now, but I was just wondering the outcome of the situation. I had new tires (non-RF) put on my car last week and now I have the TPMS light on (I've reset a couple of times, the pressure is fine), 'brake' is illuminated in yellow, and the triangle w/circle around it and an exclamation mark in the middle is also illuminated in yellow. :help

Sometimes I can shut the car car, restart it, and they all go out, sometimes they stay on. When they go out, they stay out until I turn the wheel slightly for a curve, and then they both come back on. I've only driven the car maybe 40 miles this week and it seems to 'ok' othewise. I believe the front-end to be out of alignment (slightly), I questioned if maybe that had something to do with it?:dunno Like I said, they initially only come on when I turn the steering wheel.

I've got a lot going on this week but I already had an appointment to get a 4-wheel alignment Thursday morning and if that doesn't cure the problem, I'll take it in first thing next week to have it looked at.

If the car is "slightly" out of alignment, it shouldn't cause you any problems, but if you're driving down the street with the wheel turned more than a couple of degrees one way or the other, then it could very well be your steering angle sensor throwing those lights on. If the car's computers see you driving around in (what the steering angle sensor tells it is) a circle all day long, it figures out that something's probably wrong and shuts down the DSC and puts up those lights in case it's the steering angle sensor sending a bad signal.

I'm HOPING its something minor like the steering angle sensor and that an alignment will correct it. I shall know more at 10 am in the morning! I'll post whatever I find out.:redspot

Problem corrected after alignment. No more warning lights! :buttrock
