I AM A RICER (I OWN A540i ALSO) but this is an important question about basic car enthusiast respect for one another...

Sitting at a stop light, a BMW behind me, not sure what it is but waiting to see after the light changes and we turn. We make the turn and he rips around me speeding in an hasty fashion. It was an M3 and it was gone by the time I saw it.

I was in my Riced Accord.....Is it my deserving to get waxed by an M3 with no attempts at racing or instigation of such? I was merely sitting at the light, while he took offense to me and decided to take this as a race?

Yes, my car is built to race and looks like a ricer. I know everyone does not like them here, but we are car enthusiasts also. We may not share identical views of racing, but we love cars just the same, relative to our preferences. Would someone in a Ferrari be in the right pulling up to and M3 (whose driver knows he is slower) only for the Ferrari to walk the M3 as if he wanted to race?

I would think that it is an asshole thing for the M3 to make me look stupid..even though its not tough to do...

well, I wish I was driving the 5, maybe woulda made him think twice...at least make it close..

hey i drive a 97 m3 and it doesnt matter what a guy drives its just all about loving cars . i have had some serious pos in my life and i loved em all lol . not saying your accord is a pos i have had accords and they are great cars . who knows if the guy in the M3 wasnt even racing u he may have just been out for a rip . anyway im like u just a guy that loves cars .

I will always be the first on the admit my Accord is a POS. I would always rather drive the 5er but my Accord gets such better gas mileage. He was deffinatly not just in a hurry, I cannot explain why I know, but I have raced alot, and you can tell when someone is rushing and trying to race...And no i wasn't just going slow, before I was even around the turn he cut offf the guy in the other lane and ripped around a few other cars..Anyways, just as long as I am not the only on that thinks hes an ass...

if gas consumption is an issue, i can think of alot of better alternatives than a riced out Accord. YMMV.

Accords are the best of what they are. Not BMW material by any means, but there are many types of cars. If you want a car with a competition stereo, Honda is the way to go. If you want a DD with unmatched reliability, Honda is the way to go. If youre in high school and you only have $1000, honda is the way to go.

i would have to agree to an extent here. a lot of them are arogant and think there cars are fast.... and i think you are exagerating what the m3 did. if it was two lanes why can't he go in the next lane and go around you.

I don't think the M3 was racing. He was just dispatching a slower car. I tend to drive pretty fast most of the time (Unless my CBBSCD is on board/Carbon Based Biological Speed Control Device...otherwise known as girlfriend), and if every piece of rice, muscle car, POS or whatever, takes my speed as a race......they have way too much free time.

M3 are known by all car entusiast to be built for speed, they are in their own right "flashy" but in a cool sleek kind of way, so does this then warrant....once again a Ferrari to "dispatch" it because of its looks, and not for the competitiveness of it?

Street Racing and any type of such is made in generes. I would not go out racing these V-8's (camaro's, stangs, ect...) or screw with the newer turboed out cars, or obviously faster cars (M3)...I am in the generes of 4 bangers...civic, accord, ludes, ZX3, ect...

Just because not everyone is weathly enough to purchase and modify BMW's does not mean they should be excluded from taking part in racing and fixing up there cars...I do realize you are all obviously privilaged enough to own such vehicles, but not everyone is...I bought the accord because thats all I could afford (and I needed a realiable vehicle for delivering pizza's)...Unfourtunatly arogant idiots seem to forget that there is a younger working class that has to purchase its own vehicles...

I guess I should just know next time that if my car looks flashy it will get raced, and if my girlfriend dresses to flash she may get raped...is that what this comes down to? appearances rathetr than intent? I am going to hear that Raced-Raped..totally different, but yet the point is the same....

What he did kind of sounds like me. When there is someone in front of me going slower or being slow to respond to lights i'll change lanes back and forth a couple of times to pass him and other cars to get in the front of the pack and so i can go my own speed.

Well, I can't believe were this is going. (E39Sporter) Any car can be made fast. I'll say it again, any car can be made fast!!! I have seen Civic, Accord, even Camry's give M3's a hell of a challenge if not killed them. So was it wrong for the M3 to ASSume that you had some goodies in your car. Or was it wrong for you to ASSume that the M3 wanted to play with you?

Once upon a time I was in a Rush on a Highway when I ran into a small pocket of traffic. I made a few light moves to get out of it and then gunned it in the clear. But as I floored it, an old Nissan 300ZX(I think) seemed to be flooring as well. I passed him of course & he later caught up to me in some more traffic. He started yelling at me because "I picked on an older car". So I asked him where the hell did he get the ASSumption that I was racing him!?!? He kept rambling so I put up my window & left, didn't have time to argue with him. Moral of the story is do not ASSume anything. By the way I pick on better cars such as Corvettes & Porches and why not. U loose u loose.

I guess you guys have never heard of names like Greedy, Borla, DC Sport, HKS, Injen...and many more...these names are not just some trash you buy at Auto Zone (APC), they are real companies that build REAL performance parts for other imports (non-BWM)...yes, they have larger outlets that stock, but they serve their purpose...and no they are no priced as high as a Dinan exhaust, but the still run around $5-600 clams...there are other vehicles on the road besides BMW....this is the most close minded grouping of nonsense non-thought out postings I have ever heard...I would have just left this all alone, but some of these "don't take offense" comments are utterly ridiculous and need to be put down...
