....on my 323i. I spent ALL weekend in the shop, car on the hoist, plowing away. Pulled the entire front suspension, steering, and subframe out. Degreased, scraped, sanded, etch primed, and painted the strut housings, subframe, rack shells, and whatever other little parts were in the way.

All the hardware has either been cleaned, or replaced, rack was cleaned, and regreased. I also got the rear glass in finally, and started to reinstall the struts, with new Koni/H&R setup. All rubber is new, control arms are new, tie rods, etc. I even have a set of urethane bushings from E21Parts.net. Sadly, I didn't finish it all tonight. Reason? Had brand new strut bearings on the shelf, but forgot I installed them in a client's 2002!!! DAMN! Now I need new ones tomorrow. I also broke a ball joint on one of the new control arms, while pressing the OE bushing out. Just as well anyway, is that particular arm was unknown quality. I bought 2 new ones CHEAP on Ebay last year. One is a Lemforder, and the other I have no idea. Worldpac is sending me a new Lemforder arm in the morning.

Anyway, I'll have some pics VERY soon, and more serious work will continue this week. I want this car DONE! It's been 2 years this month, and I will not let this become a restJOEration of 12 bloody years.
