I have actually gotten around to trying to fix my idle problem. I currently have a warmed up 2.0 (unknown schrick cam, header, no cats) that idles reasonably OK when cold or after just idling to warm the car up its fine. but once i drive the car for a bit the car will no longer idle. the 1.8 that was in the car was worse, i never got that engine to idle. but both engines had the same problem. i can find no vacuum leaks however i can hear a hissing when my ear is at the intake but i am thinking i may just be hearing the airflow in the intake. the car also runs rich. i pulled the intake boot and found the air meter and throttle body a little carboned up so i cleaned them out with carb cleaner but it had no effect other than a little better throttle response.
anyone have any ideas?

Manifold gasket bad? Try spraying some starting fluid around the vacuum lines and manifold. If the idle changes, you have a vac leak. Oh, by the way, were in MA this week. If we have some free time, I'll give you a call so we can get together.

I tried the spray test already, got nothing even went with alcohol when i got nothing with carb clean. i messed with the fuel mix and got it running smooth but i lost some power. looks like its either no idle and more power or idle and less. :(
