Does anyone know if the shift lever from an E30 would work with the E21? I know the E30 and E36 shifters are interchageable, I just wasn't sure if it would fit just right in the E21.

Yep - will, but the E21 lever has a bit of a bend in it, but nothing that can't be adjusted to suit.

But short term answer - it will fit. Best to get a short shift kit while you're at it though. Which one has been discussed to death. Do a search and you'll find some good threads :)
