I have been looking at a 97 m3 in Summit, NJ. I was wondering if there were any good shops in or around Summit. I need a Pre-Purchase inspection on the car before I buy my plane ticket out there. Also how easy is it to get from Newark Airport to Summit. Should I take a train, airport transporter or a cab? Lastly does anyone know how strict NJ is on emisions compared to CA. I know CA is one of the toughest. Thanks in advance.

IDK where summit is, but MSR over in Rahway could probably do it for you.

According to Google summit is 15 miles away from Rahway. While it might not be perfect its still an option. Anyone know anywhere closer?

Also how good is public transportation in NJ?

From Newark Airport to Summit it is about 15 minutes. I live a town away (2 minutes) from Summit. There also is a high end shop also in Summit that deals strictly with European cars but I can't remember the name right now. Let me know if you have real interest and I will drive by the shop and find out the name.

Train would be your best bet as there is a train station right in Summit, the shop is in walking distance.

Rolf's Auto Craft is the place in Summit. The # is (908) 273-0578. You can take the train to the Summit Train Station from Newark Airport and actually walk to Rolf's shop. The have a good reputation. Just take the Air Tram in Newark Airport to NJ Transit (anyone at the airport can point you inthe right direction) and you will be in Summit in less than 30 minutes. Summit is a very nice area (used to live there). As far as emissions, NJ is not as strict as CA but emissions is required to pass inspection. I think Rolf's does NJ inspections as well.
