View Full Version : GROUP BUYS for BMW of Fairfax, VA???
AMCBimmer 12-18-2002, 07:51 PM I work at a dealership in Fairfax, VA. I talked to the parts manager(my boss) today. I want to try to get group buys on parts. I am NOT making any commission on this. If you don't believe me call the parts manager. I thought this would be a good way of getting everyone discounts. I don't know how much I can get off because it depends on how many people are interested. I am only going to be doing the group buys on this site and dtmpower. If you could all please let me know what you would be interested in. This is for members in the MD VA and DC area. You can also get this discount if you drive to the dealership. There is only so low I can go on prices. I will be able to get any parts that are factory NO DINAN PARTS. We don't sell DINAN yet. We will not be shipping parts. You would have to pay for them before we order them. You would also have to come to the dealership to pay for them and pick them up. I am doing this for members and I am not benefitting from this at all. Like I said do not ask if I can ship it's too much of a hassle to return parts. Do NOT PM me. Post any questions to me in this post. I would like to get around 8 or more people on parts in order to do this. I can do bumpers, moldings, wheels, clears, and any other suggestions you might have. I really want to see how many are interested in this first before I put my time into this. I don't own a BMW so I will not be benefiting from this anyways since I get my parts cheap anyways. I am not going to get you my personal discount because I am not taking a chance of loosing my job. If you have any questions please ask.
THANKS MATT
BMW OF FAIRFAX VA
Preppy 12-18-2002, 08:08 PM Wow, that is very kind of you Matt! :buttrock
I think I'll go drive out there tomorrow afternoon once my finals are over to check out the cars in the lot....(any used e36 M3's?) :)
///MINI 12-18-2002, 11:20 PM How about the Sunfire Subwoofer upgrade for my M Roadster? Can you do that?
Thanks for the hook up!
NoSoup4U 12-18-2002, 11:34 PM Is this going to be better than our CCA discount though? E.g., can we also use our CCA card in conjunction with the group buy?
AMCBimmer 12-18-2002, 11:50 PM How about the Sunfire Subwoofer upgrade for my M Roadster? Can you do that?
I want this to be a group but if more people are interested in a subwoofer.Yes! Like I said I want to get a group of people for the same part. I am not trying to get discounts on 1 item. My boss won't go for that. I am sorry if I could get discounts for one part at a time I would. I remember seeing you at a dtmpower meet with the acura club or something. Those two cars are beautiful.
Is this going to be better than our CCA discount though? E.g., can we also use our CCA card in conjunction with the group buy?
It will not include the CCA membership but it should be better than the 10%. Like I said I want to try to get big group buys for parts. I am looking for people who are interested in the same part. That's usually how a group buy works.;) ;) :D :D
CASTRO 12-19-2002, 12:36 AM Any one else need a M3 front bumper, moldings, or M3 mirrors???
NoSoup4 are you Jderry?? If so are the eyelids available??
dave is cool 12-19-2002, 01:00 AM I am DEFINITELY down if you can get a group buy for people who may be interested in a black armrest for the E36. Also, OEM clears would be good. If there is a group buy on the OEM clears, would the discounted price be cheaper than getting them from Pacific BMW? Thanks
NoSoup4U 12-19-2002, 01:06 AM pman - yes -- I can grab the eyelids this weekend for you.
I would be interested in a complete set of OEM M3 moldings.
AMC - I thought the CCA discount was 15%?
It's going to be hard to get a GB locally I think, unless the numbers can remain relatively low to satisfy a group buy, e.g., 5 members.
It's a great thing you are doing though!!!!
I would also be looking for a match on pacific bmw's price.....if possible. Would your boss be willing to "match" the price of other authorized bmw stores? E.g., pac...
samm3 12-19-2002, 01:25 AM how about an e46 m3 trunk lid spoiler lip, or the m5 one, i forget which one fits e36s? I think it's different for the coupes and sedans

Just to clarify. There is no universal CCA discount. Some dealers give 15% (BMW of Arlington, BMW of Fairfax), some give 20% (BMW of Richmond) and some give 25% (Hendrick BMW). Also, the percentage figure doesn't tell you everything. Some places give xx% off BMW suggested retail. However, dealers don't have to charge suggested retail. Some dealers charge much higher than that. So it pays to shop around. I don't know what Fairfax does but it's still great that AMC is offering us a potential break.

CASTRO 12-19-2002, 04:02 AM Yup i am Castro. I get all my stuff from arlington, but if i got a "hookup" I would go to fairfax;)
///MINI 12-19-2002, 06:31 AM I guess I will be S.O.L. :D
Nobody else in the area has an M Roadster. Well, you guys can take my % of the discount. :D

don't they make stealthboxes for your mroadster? Doesn't the e36 stealthboxes fit there??? Very unobtrusive and takes no space from the trunk ...
and DAMN are you up early...
I just dropped my car off at Arlington this morning. I decided to have some items fixed under warranty ... it didn't help that all 5 of the people that take customers cars were looking at it, and asked me to pop open the trunk...I wonder what happens when I'm not there....:dunno
Hopefully nothing to do with driving the vehicle....although the service man promised me no one would drive it without me present -- but, if that were the case, how would they get the car into the facility...:D....hehehe....
degman 12-19-2002, 07:34 PM Damn i need lot of things.
first of all, m3 mirrors ???
AMCBimmer 12-19-2002, 07:59 PM I am not sure how this is gonna work. So what I am gonna do is print this off to my boss and show him the things people are interested in. If you all have some idea on how I can keep things in order that would be great. I am not sure how to organize this and make it easy on myself. I cannot post during the day since I am at work. If you would put your name and the parts you want I will see what I can do with price. Thanks Matt
Yes the CCA is 15% I am sorry. I hope my boss will be able to beat the prices you can get. I am not making promises. Thanks Matt
AMCBimmer 12-19-2002, 10:22 PM I want to try to see how this works. I was thinking maybe on a Saturday that most of us could all meet at BMW of Fairfax and order the parts you need. I really don't know how successful this will be. I think the most popular items are the things for the M's. I really would like to see a list of names with the parts you want then I will see what prices I can get. I can't gauranttee anything. I want more people to post the things they want then I will present this to my boss to show him. Thanks for understanding. MATT
dave is cool 12-22-2002, 04:37 AM Black armrest, and I guess the additional center console. By the way, how much does an armrest retail for at BMW of Fairfax?
I just saw this thread, so I guess I missed a meet-up yesterday.
But, if this is still available, I am going to order a 99 M3 steering wheel this week and I also need the appropriate air bag.
Matt, can you get a price on either of these items?

You can't put a sub in the trunk. It's way too small already. It's sealed too well and won't allow any soundwaves to penetrate the cabin unless your port holes through, which will affect the structural rigidity. The Sunfire sub fits right behind the seats and offers the best solution.
You should read my story about those crappos at BMW of Sterling. They were chomping at the bit to check out my car.
CASTRO 12-22-2002, 09:19 PM Ok, this is what I would want if the price is right:

AMCBimmer 12-25-2002, 11:40 PM Hey guys I went and talked to my boss and he is going to be out Thursday and Friday. He looked at it and said he will get the prices when he can. Thats all the news I have now. Merry Christmas everyone.

CASTRO 01-02-2003, 09:39 PM Any word? Sorry for being so inpatience but I was going to buy the bumper at other dealership but now I am waiting to see what price you can get.:)
AMCBimmer 01-04-2003, 06:10 PM I really kept annoying my boss about getting these prices. He said that he will work on them today which is Saturday. I don't work today but he told me this yesterday. I am hoping by MONDAY I will have all of you guys prices. So everyone that has replied to this thread will be getting a price for the part they want. Sorry for keeping you waiting.
AMCBimmer 01-06-2003, 01:31 PM Alright guys. I just talked to my boss. This is what he said. I can get the M3 front bumper cover for 240 dollars. The list price on which we regularly sell it for is 355. That is a substantial discount. This does not include what ever else parts you need but if you get me part number for the parts you need then the discounts will be similiar to this on other parts. I DO NOT WANT YOU coming to the dealership and asking anyone upfront or calling us. You deal with me only. Sorry to be so strict but these are the conditions. If you keep feeding me part numbers and what not then this will be easier for you and I. I need to know what you need for the M3 front bumper in order to install it properly. I don't know how someone came up with the price 800 dollars for an M3 bumper that is a load of bull shit. I hope you will continue to take an interest and advantage of what I am doing for you guys. Thanks for your time. PLEASE send more part numbers my way.
MATT BMW OF FAIRFAX

REMEMBER WE ARE NOT SHIPPING
CASTRO 01-06-2003, 06:52 PM Cool, I am in for in for a M front Bumper with moldings and also side moldings.
PS: It was a lady who quoted me for that price.
AMCBimmer 01-06-2003, 07:19 PM Let me go back tomorrow and make sure we have everything in stock. I am sure the bumper is. If not we will order one. I hope this helps. DO you need anything else for the front bumper. Because this is only the cover no air ducts or fogs. If you need anything else let me know. I will look it up tomorrow. i will ask my boss how I can have you come in and make the transaction.
CASTRO 01-06-2003, 08:02 PM Question: All of the foglights and brake ducts are the same on every E36 correct? If so I think thats all I need.
Thanks for setting this up!!
AMCBimmer 01-06-2003, 11:33 PM I KNOW for sure the FOG LIGHTS are universal the brake ducts I am questioning. You will also need two more pieces that I know of for the front bumper. The PLASTIC MESH GRILL and the BLACK front lip on the M3 bumper. It is not required that you have these. It just makes it look better. Trust me you don't want to paint either of them because the paint flakes off with stone chips and debree on the roads. I would get the mesh grill and the lip and leave them flat black. I will talk to my boss on how we are going to have this setup for pickup. Thanks and if you want I will be online at work posting messages if you can reply during any hours of the day that would be great.
CASTRO 01-07-2003, 12:09 AM Yes, I also need the mesh I forgot about that but I don't need the lip because I have a Rieger lip ready to go on. Can you PM me the total.
THanks
dave is cool 01-07-2003, 01:48 AM Hey AMC, how much is the X-Brace with the required bolts and washers at BMW Of Fairfax? I just want to see what it retails at over there before I decide to buy it. And what is the part # for it? Thanks
AMCBimmer 01-07-2003, 09:15 AM Pman003
I will not be going to work today because I am sick so what I will do is go in an get it tomorrow and give you the total. I am gonna call and ask how you should pick these parts up. TO see your total just add the prices for the parts I have already given you.
Sean M3
I can get the X brace but I need a part number. If you can get that for me it would make it so easy. If I have to look up every part number for every diffferent part it's going to take time and I don't know where to find some of these parts on the program we use. I am not an expert with it. If you give me the part number I type it in on DCS and look at the list vs cost and then my boss comes up with a fair price. Thanks Matt
NoSoup4U 01-07-2003, 04:06 PM Thanks Matt -
If someone has an ETK, can someone provide Matt with the part number for "exhaust hangers" for the E36? I'm pretty sure that's the only part I would need to replace with an exhaust. I think it comes with all of the bolts right?
Regardless, I need exhaust hangers.
I Need a rear bumper cover for an E36 M3 Sedan.
