So the deal is that he wants me to pay 349 for each one I keep. I figure to have 2 of them checked to see if they can be repaired. I'll keep them if they can be, use those wheels for street use and get another set ot tires and make a set of track wheels. I am sort of running out of storage space though.

I think the E36 is better for mods since it would seem that there is so much more one can do because of the parts availability. But it is a slippery slope.

I think it would since the M is not costing me too much monthly. Buying an e36 and moding is not gonna be a smart choice, if I want to save some money.I think it's time for my manager to give me a raise :stickoutt

I thinking maybe my valve guides might be the problem, but I don't get any smoke when I start the car cold. I always thought if the valve guides were worn I'd see smoke at cold start up since oil would leak down past the valve guides and into the combustion chamber.

I'd like to find a good BMW mechanic to take the car to have it checked in Holland, GR, or Kzoo. Any recommendations? TIA

I worked at Auto SPorts Unlimited in Holland for 3 years so there are a couple guys there that know my car in and out. Plus they just stole the parts manager from Sharpe BMW in Grand Rapids so he is pretty knowlegable as well. If you go talk to Marcus or Donnie and tell them Dick sent you.

Plugs are a nice tan color and dry, no pressure in the valve cover, and I checked the valve cover to intake hose last night - the hose is dry inside.
The guys on the bfc M3 board are saying valve seals too.

Have you done a leakdown test on that cylinder? Pull the valve cover off and see if you can see anything different on the cylinders while the leakdown tester is putting some pressure in there.

Then again...regardless, you will be pulling the head off. Might as well just pull the cams and head right now.

Cool, how hard was the install?

I just installed my Bosch + DDE headlight setup from umnitza today. They look awesome! Except, Matt didn't give me the splice connector or low beam bulbs so I haven't been able to see the DDE's yet :( . Ohh well, they should be here soon.

Today Eric installed my new M Teck. Side moldings. Car looks much better now. He was so quick I didn't get a chance to pop off or on any parts, just detailed underneath.

My only advice would be to get the 18s. I bought 17s as my first wheel too and all I could think about was that I should have got the 18s, they look so much better. Of course now that I have the 18s all I can think about is getting the 19s now :stickoutt I have a sickness........

That is how it all starts. The two piece would save some weight. There is only minor curb damage, unlike this set of ACS in my living room. Speaking of which I need to mail those back.

Personally I have 17's on my car and it's lowered a bit. The wheel goes up into the car a little now as it is. I think anything bigger would look bad

So I'm driving down Michigan Ave near Dearborn Heights yesterday (after watching that UM loss... horrible). I was pretty dejected. When a guy driving a Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo flags me down and yells sumthin about parts for my car. We pull into a parking lot and he informs me that he is selling all the aftermarket stuff from his M3. He has a 97 4 door automatic. He took the aftermarket parts off to sell the car stock. So I just bought a slightly used (3 months) AA exhaust and front strut brace for extra, extra cheap. :redspot It definetly has brightened my weekend :D Hopefully I can get time to put them on before the "driving season" is over...

Don't think I want to sell the exhaust... this was #1 on my list of things to get this winter. :) I do have his number tho. What he has left is CAI, angel eyes, Zex Nitrous, Yokohama tires, and clear corner, side and tail lights. I don't think he has any suspension stuff. PM me if you still want his number.

The other bummer that happened this weekend...

So I come out of the bowling alley last night to see this horrible picture... Needless to say I was pissed. :mad It was an attempted hit and run. They say this drunk driver plowed into the truck at a "significant rate of speed". He took off, but the cops apprehended about 5 miles away. Luckily, I'm not the car next to the truck, but I do have a dent above my rear passenger side fender well. I know the picture is kinda dark, but basically my car got moved about 4 or 5 feet. So you know the driver was goin pretty darn fast to move 3 vehicles with one hit...

When the cops got the perpetrator, they said he was being "uncooperative", so they had to rough him up some. Made me feel a little better.

:D :D yeah it would make me feel better too, last year at halloween, some guy hit my 525 in a parking lot, after having too much to drink...cops caught him a few blocks down, I was fumin! luckily it didnt do much damage.

So today I bought this *very* cheap beater, a 89 Civic, the only major problem (besides that it's not a BMW) is the rust, so I drove it for 10 miles and I was like there is noway I will be driving this $hIt for 4 months :mad , so now I have to either admit it or find a nicer beater :confused ,, dunno what would satisfy me as a beater though, it's real difficult.. :help , I might trade the Civic for another nicer car, it would me the quickest buy/sell transaction I have ever done...

Important: I am still in CA. Is there snow on the ground or ice due Monday night? I don't have my snow tires on and my car is scary when there is snow on the ground. I fly back soon and I don't want to have to abandon the car at the airport because of inclement weather.

There was snow yesterday but today it melted because of the *warm* temprature :stickoutt , it's raining now...

Tire replacment,, I do it at a shop near me, costs me like $20 per tire..

Lip removed but it snapped and also was discolored by the heat gun. So I can't sell it anymore but the car looks good again.

I emailed him and never heard back. I have done all I can and will not mail them again. The box looks like it has been through hell too, ripped open on the side.

What size is the tire. I run 235/40 all around but if its gonna be a spare then I guess it really doesn't matter.

225 40, really too narrow for the wheel, I believe but I'll check. I didn't buy that tire size so you can't blame me. If there are no takers the tires will go to Discount tire for store credit since two of them are new.

They have finally started plowing it out.

I just spent 2 hours outside brushing the cars off and snowblowing the driveway/sidewalks. Now there saying here that they don't want anyone on the road unless its an emergency. All the city plow trucks have stopped for a while to get some sleep and the highways are all closed!!

I think I am going to...I just want to get a set of blown used front struts so that i can get everything ready before hand and still sell my stock setup since it is not blown...Why destroy a perfectly good strut when there are many blown ones out there.
