DSrugis 10-25-2003, 10:27 AM Hey Motorcity M3: I was @ PDC Friday morning from 9:30-11:30 and then I had to drop off some buckles to Eric Auger. I was going to look you up but I realized I didn't know your real name. Let me know and next time I am down there I will look you up.
Dave

DSrugis 10-26-2003, 06:29 PM Sure thing Matt. Are you talking about a meet or like a drag event? I know some guys went to Lapeer recently and they had their picnic a couple weeks ago. They are going to have a picnic in the spring also. Lots of good guys there. You ever on the xceedspeed boards?
Oudles: Thanks for the paint man...you were a life saver...even if we broke the can:)

DSrugis 10-27-2003, 03:24 PM MotorcityM3: Cool Ken, I will look you up next time I am down there. Is that you PDC cubicle # or Roush? I didn't mention in my other post that I was seeing Eric Auger @ Roush. I will keep your info at work so I can take it with me next time I head down there.
Boostfed: I will let you know the next time there is some sort of meet.
Oudles: I gotta know if you can hear me coming up Pacific Dr. on some of the mornings. Just curious.
Dave
Hey Guys,
I've signed a lease for a performance shop with a lift and all the other goodies. If anyone needs a nice clean/dry/warm place to work on their car, or if you want some work done, just send me an email or reply here.
The shop is located in Livonia, MI. It was just becoming too cramped to work out of my garage. I should be open for business the middle of November. I doubt you will find a better deal anywhere else.
Thanks and take care,
Eric

JT under panel reinstalled! LOL
Sure Ken. Free of charge. ;) Just about two more weeks.
MotorcityM3 10-28-2003, 11:14 AM Oh yeah, and my intake bracket!
Did you get your turbo fixed yet? I'm still waiting for a test drive or maybe I'll drive
it the way you tested my clutch...gotta love it!
Bro, BW3's tonight?
agapehme 10-28-2003, 11:15 AM Hey Hey Hey!!!! Very nice Eric....
I think that BMW3's tonight is in order! See you there!
And hey...I was 100 times nicer to your clutch than you are!
Here's a picture of your old flywheel to remind you...

fantastixvoyage 10-28-2003, 04:36 PM Eric - I pm'd you earlier. That's awesome news about the shop. I just bought my BMW last week so its nice to know there's someone local! I grew up in Livonia - where's the shop located?
Anyone have anything planned for the mich. area? i know its late in the year but I just got my car. Let me know if there's anything left for this year.
Feel free to get in touch with me - I'm in the Detroit area (Wixom).
ndwallace72@hotmail.com
OUDLES 10-29-2003, 12:08 AM Dave: I've been goin out to the truck a little later in the morning because i'm in the machine shop so I cant exactly say I've heard you. Usually I can just hear you coming down that side drive. On another note I now have my lunch at 12:00-1:00 instead of 11:00-12:00 so if you're around during that time we can go for a cruise or something.
See ya around.
DSrugis 10-29-2003, 10:53 PM So when you guys go to BW3s, which location do you go to? There is a BW3s in Lake Orion. That location would work for Tasmirs and myself...anyone else interested in getting some wings after work around 6 one of these nights?
Dave
fantastixvoyage 10-30-2003, 11:15 AM Let me know if you guys will be going to bw3's. I work in Auburn Hills behind the Palace so its close. If its the Novi location thats cool too cause I live in Wixom.
Shoot me an email next time there's something planned (ndwallace72@hotmail.com)
What rides ya'll got?
I work in Auburn Hills, so 6:00 would be good for me too.
We usually meet up at the BW3's in Novi because the Subaru Club shows up and there are a lot of other cars out there (maybe 30 in total).
DSrugis 10-30-2003, 03:46 PM I am up for going there tonight but probably too late of a notice...Maybe next week on Thursday around 6 we can meet at the Lake Orion location? Sound good?
MotorcityM3: I will be down at PDC tomorrow and Monday so if I have time either day I will look you up.
Dave
OUDLES 10-30-2003, 10:43 PM Dave you big dumb baffoon!!! You gotta go to B-dubs on a tuesday!!! 30 cent wings!!! Sheish... rookies these days;)
DSrugis 10-30-2003, 11:22 PM Well...Tuesday or Thursday next weelk around 5:30-6:00 at BW3 in Lake Orion. Who is in?

what is the BW3 ? and what are u guys gonna do there?
fantastixvoyage 10-31-2003, 10:55 AM Either day is cool with me.
Eric - I got your message but I was at the track till 7. I'll try to give you a call today or pm me your cell #.
My car is stock so I'd like to see some of your rides.
what is the BW3 ? and what are u guys gonna do there?
We drink beer and eat chicken wings.
BW3 is short for Buffalo Wild Wings and Weck. Whatever "Weck" is, I have no idea. Too bad it doesn't mean girls in tight t-shirts and shorts 3 sizes too small. :(

Lol, I thought the BW3 is a mix of BMW and M3 ! anyway, I'm in ...Tuesday or Thursday , I don't care...weekend would be better though..
I don't drink but I think they have root beer :drink1:
DSrugis 10-31-2003, 09:03 PM Tuesdays is 30 cent wings so that works for me.
Dave
BoostFed325 11-01-2003, 01:54 PM EMC i wish everything stood for that
DSrugis 11-03-2003, 04:57 PM Ok...anyone still interested in going to BW3s in Lake Orion?
Even though Thursday wings are more expensive, it will be a nicer day. Anyone want to meet Thursday?

fantastixvoyage 11-03-2003, 06:42 PM I'm planning on tomorrow as well. Temps look better but it is supposed to rain. Calling for snow by Friday but I never believe it till I see it!

OUDLES 11-03-2003, 09:52 PM Dave, if we're goin tomorrow stop by in the Machine shop and let me know... otherwise I'll just go home and go with my dad :D
DSrugis 11-03-2003, 11:09 PM Alright guys, Tomorrow (Tuesday) it is. See you there around 6. Everyone know where it is at?

OUDLES 11-04-2003, 05:41 PM See you guys at 6... gotta go wash her real fast!
DSrugis 11-05-2003, 02:55 PM It was nice to meet you guys who came out to BW3s last night. Hopefully we can get together again sometime soon.
Tasmisr, do you get enjoyment picking on a little old civic? I think we all knew the outcome of that one.
Dave

It was nice meeting you guys too..
Dave: really I didn't know I could beat you!:evil2 :evil2 ..
I'm sure someday soon when u get a M3 you will kick ass..
fantastixvoyage 11-05-2003, 03:22 PM Likewise everyone. It was great meeting you guys and it sounds like I missed out on a little action!!! Guess this is more motivation to step up to a M3 eh Dave?:D
DSrugis 11-05-2003, 03:27 PM Yeah, not that I really needed any motivation.
Some of the best action you may have missed was seeing Tasmisr hitting on the girl in the Ranger.

hehehe... man.. I was trying to flirt .. but it sounded like I was making fun of her car when I said "You got a nice car" .. then I tried to be cool ... and she understood...
May be what u missed Dave is when I was takeing off.. she was like wasting sometime getting into her car.. she wanted me step over and talk to her... but I didn't give a @#$@ and I left (Like always)
fantastixvoyage 11-05-2003, 04:10 PM That could very well be. What was the average age of the girls there? About 16 or so????? Just kidding but it was a little odd being at a bar filled with teenagers!
Nothing like hot (ok decent) teenage girls after a long day's work!:buttrock
Teenage girls? Sweet. I'll be there next week! :alright
Oh..and we are going to race on the way out as well. :devillook
BoostFed325 11-05-2003, 06:40 PM where are the teenage girls?:boink
Ralliart 11-05-2003, 07:23 PM Too bad I have class on Tuesday from 6-8 otherwise I'd make the drive down from Flint. I did end up goin to BW3's in Fenton with some friends. I tried a Blazin' wing for the first time, WOW.:evil2 It's not so bad when you're eating the wing, it's the terrible burning for 10 minutes aftwerwards.
DSrugis 11-05-2003, 08:15 PM Ah, I see that the teenage girls is what got everyone's attention. Let me know if anyone wants to possibly meet up for next week.
Dave

ofcouse they are..;) ...
we could meet like once a week or somthing..sameplace or different... we could change the day/time too so other people could join..:buttrock ..
in terms of racing... EMC will beat the hell out of my car !!! and hopefully one of you guys has a radar detector..:devillook
fantastixvoyage 11-05-2003, 09:10 PM I like the idea of changing venues every once in awhile. Maybe we'll have to visit Ralliart in Flint and visit one of those upscale gentlemen's club!!:boobies
But seriously I think we need to find out whose interested and where they're from/work. Auburn Hills area seems perfect so far but hopfully other guys (or gals!!! I guess I'm just dreaming) from other parts of SE Michigan will speak up.
DSrugis 11-05-2003, 10:53 PM Even closer than BW3s (for most) would be gameworks at Great Lakes Crossing...grab a beer, some snacks, and play some air hockey and driving games. Anyone be up for this in the next couple weeks? It is only about 30 minutes from Flint also.
Also, Thursdays are womens night at Gameworks...just a heads up:cool:
Dave

hehehe,, good idea,, and I will be staying outside in my car waiting for the rangers...
btw, nice new pic dave.
DSrugis 11-06-2003, 12:30 AM lol...waiting for rangers.
Thanks for the complement on the pic also. I love how bright the blue came out in that picture. Its a scanned pic from my SLR.
Ralliart 11-06-2003, 02:01 AM Gamewerks sounds like a great idea! I'd definately be able to drive down there for a night out with you guys.
OUDLES 11-06-2003, 07:28 PM B-dubs was a good time. Tas man you had that girl in the ranger
Anyway yea that was a blast and we need to do that again sometime. I'm up for gameworks on Thursday if everyone else is good with that???
Keep up the ideas....

I wasn't emotionally ready to hook up with a girl :( but expect more to come...
GameWorks is cool too... there are lot of places to hang out to in Michigan..let's hit one at a time...Thursday sounds too far.. may be we could meet earlier?
tasmisr 11-09-2003, 12:16 AM so guys, Thursday 13th at Gameworks, Great lakes Crossing?
DSrugis 11-10-2003, 08:45 AM I am going to try to make it but my girlfriend's grandma passed away this weekend so I am going to be busy with funerals and support. I will probably know Thursday if I will be able to make it. Everyone meeting around 6 again?
Dave
fantastixvoyage 11-10-2003, 10:07 AM Sorry to hear the sad news. Not sure if I can make it on thurs. (probably be going to Tonic) but I'll keep ya guys posted.
Had an interesting experience with my 328 last night. I was driving home on woodward and happen to get stopped at a light with a brand spankin' new Lambo!!! The guy was real cool and he nailed it off the light. Before I was even through first he was gone!!! I knew I wouldn't have a chance but it was still cool. Man I wish I would've had my 'Cuda!
A little later I raced a 4.6L Mustang and was hardly able to beat it. I think its about time to do some work to the car!!
I have a court date Thursday from when I test drove my buddies Lancer Evo8 with Vishnu kit on it. I got a frigin ticket within 300 yards of getting in the car!
I'd be up for something tomorrow, but I think that I'm taking my car to the dyno for some tuning and official horsepower numbers.
400/400 rwhp/rwtq is the goal for tomorrow! The dyno is at Monkey Wrench Racing in Commerce Township if anyone is interested in showing up.
agapehme 11-10-2003, 11:33 AM EMC,
Check this out...
http://w1.226.telia.com/~u22610068/main.html
Ralliart 11-10-2003, 11:55 AM Good luck on the dyno Eric!
I have class from 6-8 on tuesday and thursdays, looks like I'll have to sit this one out.
fantastixvoyage 11-10-2003, 12:10 PM Eric -
Good luck at the dyno. Its close to my house so I'll stop by if I can get off work at a decent time. Let me know about your shop as well. I don't have much going on after Wed. if you need a hand.
What are the rates for the dyno? through work I get a decent price at Advanced Chassis Dyno - $75 for 3 runs which usually ends up being more like 5 or 6.
I think that they charge something like $50 or $75 to get a few hp/tq curves.
I'm doing a tuning session which is $120 an hour. I'll probably be there for about two hours total. There are no set up fees and the dyno bolts to your rear hubs in place of the wheels. No wheel spin, or bending your lower camber arms like the last time I went to the dyno with Ken. I think that we both ended up with some bent lower control arms when Bubba used them to tie our cars down. If I can eek out an extra 15 or 20 hp by tuning the car correctly up top, it will all be worth it.
I usually tune while driving, but it gets very hard and unsafe when I'm trying to watch the wideband, the laptop, and the road at the same time!
fantastixvoyage 11-10-2003, 01:48 PM I know what you mean about unsafe driving. I have to run two seperate laptops for the vehicles I'm testing at my job. What a pain in the a$$ trying to read tiny numbers (I watch like sixty channels) while driving.
OUDLES 11-10-2003, 11:43 PM Yea those damn 4 digits in the middle of my dash kill me when I'm driving... or is that just the clock again??? Damn... Good luck on the dyno!
As far as thursday goes... should we possibly reschedule??? sounds like there's gonna be a lot of people missing so possibly another night???
tasmisr 11-11-2003, 10:39 AM waw 400/400 .. this pretty exciting... I think If I want to hit that number ,, I will get a camaro SS and tweak it a little, it will still cost me less than the bmr.. good luck EMC, I would love to see the charts over 399 :buttrock
regarding thursday, sounds like everybody will not be able to make it..let's make it sunday or somthing...
fantastixvoyage 11-12-2003, 06:21 PM So Eric, what's the hp number?
I posted in the forced induction forum. I think that there are some people out there wanting to shoot my numbers down, but they don't know how. :D
6psi (low boost) 390rwhp and 353rwtq
8psi (my high boost) 407rwhp and 372rwtq
There is room for improvement, but I have made the point that I wanted to. It is possible to get good numbers with a bone stock motor if you build a well put together kit and tune the actual car...
OUDLES 11-12-2003, 10:03 PM holy monster batman!!!
Nice numbers!
DSrugis 11-12-2003, 10:52 PM Great numbers man. Get that thing to hook up and you will be deep in the 12s.
Dave
agapehme 11-13-2003, 07:16 AM Pay day is here!!!!!
Great Job Eric:wave:
tasmisr 11-13-2003, 11:18 AM man, this is real awsome!! I think you would have got greater numbers if they had a bigger chart :biglaughb
Could I take it for a test drive??:devillook
I'll bring it by BW3's next week if we are meeting up then and the weather cooperates. I'll give rides, but I have only let a handful of trusted people drive my car in the last 6 years.
fantastixvoyage 11-13-2003, 04:48 PM I would assume he was only joking about actually driving your car! I will definatly be there if you're bringing your car. Hopefully this will give me some ideas on the route I'll take with my 328.

I really was.. with the internal instinct of really driving it..
I'm up for any gathering... just let me know the time/loc.
tasmisr 11-15-2003, 01:55 PM Guys you have been so quiet lately..
Are u up for gathering On Friday 21 at Gameworks? It's gonna be like 60F .. wwo hoooo... gonna take the top down in November!! Unbelievable
Well, when you meet me, you will know that I joke A LOT. ;)

fantastixvoyage 11-16-2003, 06:12 PM Any plans for this tuesday? It seemed EMC and others expressed some interest. I like getting together during the week. Maybe something in Auburn Hills or Novi for the man in E. Lansing???

Dont worry about me. I barely have any time at school so it's not a good idea to plan things around it. Have fun on Tuesday!
tasmisr 11-16-2003, 08:04 PM Alright, Tuesday is okay with me, the only thing is that it's gonna be raining.
bimmering 11-16-2003, 08:15 PM Yeah me too, any day is fine, but thursday friday and saturday look to be warm and sunny.
DSrugis 11-17-2003, 12:24 AM Well, anyone up for gameworks on Tuesday night?
Dave
bimmering 11-17-2003, 12:45 AM Like those pics of the green M3, well here's a video of, what i believe to be the same one.

Dave ... I'll get that CD one of these days... I'm too damn lazy!
DSrugis 11-17-2003, 11:05 PM I can't go anyways tomorrow. I got a shit load of school work. Some things in my life are going great while others are going down the shitter. It sucks cause I get excited about something and something else takes a shit. At least I still have the important things in my life like family and friends...alright, I'm done bitching.
Anyways, let me know when you bring my cd in. I will stop by and harrass you every couple of days until you bring it in or you can call me. X66547

could u make on Friday Dave?
BTW, I need this CD too! It has been out for more than 3 months now!
DSrugis 11-18-2003, 12:28 AM Not sure about Friday...I was thinking of maybe studying Friday and then meeting some friend's a Payne to hang and watch them dyno. I will know when Friday gets closer. If anyone is interested in the dyno, here is the info... http://www.activeperf.com/yabbse/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=617
If you are interested, Tony may still be able to get you in.
Dave
I need to hit the Dyno at Payne to get some comparison numbers with the Active Autowerkes guys and show them whats up. Is there room for this Friday?
DSrugis 11-18-2003, 08:49 AM The group that is going is on Saturday. Post on the Active boards if you want to try to get in on the "group buy."
Dave
tasmisr 11-19-2003, 07:50 PM What about gathering on Saturday? We could meet EMC if he is going to the Dyno shop or we could meet somewhere else...
Weather Forecast: 56 :buttrock
fantastixvoyage 11-20-2003, 10:22 AM Any idea what time you guys will be at the dyno? I will be in troy in the morning. However I've got a ton of sh*t to do this weekend. I just sold my boat to a guy in Washington and need to do somethings on it first. Then I need to pull the trans in my Durango to rebuild it next week!
Going to be a long weekend!!!!
DSrugis 11-20-2003, 08:04 PM Dyno runs start @ 10AM. I believe they are starting w/ AWD and then going to 2WD after that.
Dave
Mule Doe 11-20-2003, 08:08 PM i am in dearorn area, i would LOVE to have a meet with everyone like near summer, my car is away for fixing.
That would be really awesome.
DSrugis 11-20-2003, 09:01 PM hey Mule Doe, I didn't know you were on this site. See ya around at the redline meets or something.
Dave
tasmisr 11-20-2003, 10:06 PM Dave u busy this weekend?
fantastixvoyage 11-24-2003, 11:22 AM How'd the dyno day go??
DSrugis 11-24-2003, 03:21 PM I won't say any of the #s because I am not sure of the official #s that Eric put down but it was cool. I will link to the active performance boards once the #s are posted.
Nice to meet you Eric and I will get in touch with you early next year when I am seriously looking to buy. BTW, I love the car and I wish I would have asked for a ride but maybe next time.
Dave
360/360 at the rear wheels on the mustang dyno.
Basically my plots matched the AA Stage2 450+ hp kit almost perfectly. I posted the dyno in the Forced Induction forums if you want to see the plot.
The first run was 365 rwhp which is 457 hp according to AA.
Best thing about it was that I didn't even need to turn the boost up!
fantastixvoyage 11-24-2003, 04:09 PM Great numbers once again!!!
Is this dyno a dynojet or mustang brand?
We use a dynojet for the testing here at my job but I'm thinking of running my next vehicle at both for comparison sakes. From what I understand a mustang dyno has the ability to simulate a load throughout the entire run allowing for more real world numbers/tuning conditions.
Was there any other cars there putting up high numbers?? I still want to run mine stock to get a baseline so let me know if theres another dyno day planned.
Have a great holiday if I don't talk to you guys before then.
fantastixvoyage 11-24-2003, 04:11 PM Never mind about the mustang vs. dynojet question I just went to the posting on the forced induction.
DSrugis 11-27-2003, 11:31 AM Happy thanksgiving guys!
Dave
DeezBMW 11-27-2003, 01:05 PM Happy Thanksgiving!!:chicken
Same to all of you!
Man...I hate dial-up....at the folks house.
Deez, ever find anything on a 2.93 rear diff?
DeezBMW 11-27-2003, 09:27 PM I had one but I thought you had one lined up already?
I can see if its still there.

DSrugis 11-28-2003, 06:50 PM I hate the snow for driving but I love it for everything else. I just booked a trip out to Whiteface mountain over the Christmas break. I can't wait. We still should try to meet sometime at gameworks sometime before Christmas or would anyone be up for grabbing some Thai food at Rexy's @ woodward and 13 mile?

Snow is definately cool for everything BUT driving. Unless your out for a little spirited driving once and a while.

Whiteface mountain , this is exciting!! have fun there and be safe..I'm also thinking about driving to Boston/NY area, the Camry which sucks but it will get me there...
Cold weather is not just about driving,, it's about going out..I feel that everything is slow and dead in winter here, it's like the thrid winter for me here but It still tough ..
Also I'm starting to think about selling my roadster and getting a used Navigator :chix or Blazer Extreme :biglaughb
DSrugis 11-30-2003, 11:21 AM I really hope you are joking about selling the roadster Tamir.

It's not related to weather issues...but it depends on my plans next year....I might be selling it cause I might be loaded with other high periority monthly payments :(

OUDLES 12-04-2003, 06:42 PM Dave, I'd be good to go for some Thai food some day coming up before I head back to school after the Holiday. Gimme a hollar down in the shop if you're up for somethin.
DSrugis 12-04-2003, 06:49 PM Ok, that may work. I went to the Union for lunch today but maybe sometime next week we can grab lunch...or if anyone is up for a meet we could try to have a meet next Thursday at Gameworks.
Dave
tasmisr 12-07-2003, 01:54 AM I don't eat Thai food, had a bad experience.. Tuesday would work for me,, Pistons are gonna play in the Palace.. they lost today but next is gonna be a good one..we could either watch the game at B3w or we could watch the game live :awink:
I'm up for whatever, even if it snows. I just won't bring my car if the weather is bad.
I love Thai food. You can have great food at one place, then eat there the next week and feel like you are going to die afterwards. Must be that mad cat disease that I've heard of.
Dave, I owe you a ride in my car. I would have given you one after the dyno at Payne, but you were gone. I just did a 1st and 2nd gear burn afterwards to let everyone know that the Alpha Male BMW was leaving. ha ha :D
I really want to build a motor with forged internals, but have my money tied up in the shop/tools/materials right now. If I had lowered compression, 600+ horsepower would not be a problem. Then again, I'd probably break something in the driveline....
DSrugis 12-07-2003, 11:09 AM N/A
DSrugis 12-07-2003, 11:12 AM I can't go Tuesday...this is finals week for me but I could go Thursday night. I am up for Gameworks (Thursdays are ladies night) or Bangcok Cuisine at 13mile and woodward (One of the best thai restaurant's in the area.) Anyone interested and if so, which location?
Eric-I was only planning on staying at the Payne for like 2 hours and it ended up being 4 but I wanted to see you dyno so I left right after that. Stupid school work...Next time we meet up you can give me a ride.

I would go with Thursday at Gameworks,, I'm against Thai sorry.. I could bring a Wooper meal in the thai restaurant if you guys really want it..
DSrugis 12-09-2003, 06:20 PM Ok, is anyone in? Name a place...If we go to Thai, Tamir can get a drink or something or we could just go to gameworks. I still have this Thursday open if anyone wants to get together for food or drinks.

LittleBlueBMW 12-11-2003, 03:20 PM Here I thought I was alone in MI.
Is there anything going on before the 18th?
Preferably within driving distance from Ann Arbor?
tasmisr 12-11-2003, 03:24 PM Hey LittleBMW,, btw I think my car is the smallest one here!..
We might gather before the 18th but our friends here are Hibernating.. we get together in greate lakes/LakeOrion/Levonia area.. and not mostly Bimmers..
Anyway welcome.. what model do u have/pics?
LittleBlueBMW 12-11-2003, 05:53 PM Little like engine size.
I have a 323is in Avus Blue.

I'm probably going to have some kind of party/get together soon at my shop in Livonia. I suppose that afterwards we could all head to BW3's in Westland or Champs in Livonia. Lots of good looking women at Champs....

Awsome,, make sure you make it before the 25th ...
Also I'm looking to change the brakes on my bimmer in the next few weeks..I got the (0) lights on for more than 2 months now
tasmisr 12-12-2003, 12:59 AM EMC: Would you help me changing the brake pads?
1- Pades: I want something for the street, affordable price, and dust free,no squeeling . Here are some recommendations but I don't know which one is the best:
Repco Metalmasters(PBR Metalmasters)
Porterfield R4-S brake
Axxis Ultimates
we might need also some few accessories like brake wire sensors..
2- The other thing is I want to paint the calippers with Estoril or blue color and the ///M emblem with silver color..
3- I might need Wheel alignment, Thhe car starting to vibrate on 50 to 70 mph,, I know the tires are old but I can't afford a tires change now...
I don't know if I will need to change the rotors or not, I can't tell.. my car has 48,000 K and I have no history of the maintainance records..
lemme know..
linuxrick 12-12-2003, 12:16 PM Wow!! there are people here from michigan! Talk about mega-long threads! :redspot

PBR Delux will get you no squeels and extremely minimal dusting
We get a bit of a squeel out of the metal masters unless you shim them

Not a problem. I use the Axxis Ultimates. Hardly any dust compared to stockers and the still work well without noise. Plus, when they heat up they work even better.
I would change rotors while you are at it. I'm sure that your 50K rotors would need changing soon anyways.
Foliatec is a good caliper paint. You can check mine out if you want. I did them and the brackets in red.
I don't have the equipment for an alignment. You are probably okay, but the only people I trust within 100 miles of here for an alignment is Munk's Motors. They really know bmw's. I've had bad experiences with EVERYONE else that has aligned my car.
Let me know when you want to do the brakes. I'll finally have my lift powered up later today.
LittleBlueBMW 12-12-2003, 09:05 PM Tellmemore about painting the calipers.I have wanted to do that for a while.
tasmisr 12-12-2003, 09:07 PM 1) Pads:
Axxxis altimats are the same as PBR and most of people like it.. except that it's not dust-free pads,, but much cleaner than the OEMs.. I will get em from this guy called "Andie Lin"..
2)Rotors:
The Rotora ones they are like 250$ for front and rear.. Is there a way to tell wether I should change it or not? or is there cheaper rotors??
3)Caliper Paint:
Foliatec is okay, and I would go with one color instead of 2 colors to avoid buying another bottle for 40$ .. And I think Red would be very hotter than having the same paint as the car !!
I think I would need also new brake sensors.. .. remind me if I'm missing any parts...
Once I get all parts here I will let you know,, probably within the next 10 days.
thx!

LittleBlueBMW 12-14-2003, 11:34 AM Thanks for the link. I am still hunting for winter tires. I think Discount tire tried to rip me off yesterday>They said thatI couldn't gte steel wheels for my car. Also they keep stating that Blizzack are for one season only. They should be saying that it is for so many miles, a number much higher than what I drive in a whole year.
Any thoughts on good winter tires?I'll probably buy from tire rack since they are pretty cheap and fairly in the know.
tasmisr 12-14-2003, 01:43 PM Yes they are right, Blizzacks are only for winter, why would u need to drive those in summer?? .. usually people buy 2 sets of tires,, Blizaaaks for winter, and another performance set for summer...Or you could get a all season tires , but it will not perform as the Blizzaks in snowy conditions.... that's why I will drive my Camry instead buying tires..
LittleBlueBMW 12-14-2003, 04:45 PM No, you misunderstand me. I have summer tires now and only want Blizzacks for used in the winter months. By one season they meant only this winter, not the next. So essentially only good for use for 4 months and then throw them out.
tasmisr 12-14-2003, 07:33 PM Originally posted by LittleBlueBMW

http://www.tirerack.com/winter/tech/blizzfaqs.html#howlong
LittleBlueBMW 12-14-2003, 11:28 PM Well I went out to the snow covered parking lot and played abit on the summer tires. They held up fine at low speed but there were the expected traction problems on ice. But it was fun. Slide-outs and stuff. I read that tire rack link and I'll probably gowith them since I do not drive very much now that I am iun graduate school.
LittleBlueBMW 12-14-2003, 11:28 PM I apologize for the type-o's. My keyboard is jacked up.
fantastixvoyage 12-15-2003, 10:39 AM LittleBlue - Since you're in Ann Arbor go to the Belle Tire there. Talk to Nick Bittel and tell him Neil sent ya. He should give you the best deal. Take in the quote from TireRack to be sure.
I also plan to go to the Auto Show. I get my ticket for free and I get a good deal on extras as well - I think $8 if anyone's interested.
Speaking of winter rides: I just put a 3" lift on my Durango and it seems like the list of "to do's" is getting longer not shorter!!! Oh well it should be back on the road by March:D
DSrugis 12-15-2003, 11:04 AM I will be going to the NAIAS probably twice. The new group I am working with at work is planning on going sometime during the week and then my dad and I always go for like 8-9 hours. We have been doing that for about 15 years now running.
Dave
BoostFed325 12-15-2003, 12:29 PM ill be going to the auto show, dick if you wanna head out there my brothers house is out there and ill probably stay with him.
soo you could always chill there for a bit or a night or whatever. Same goes for if you go out to HIN in detroit
OUDLES 12-15-2003, 08:50 PM I'm defiantely going to be at the auto show this year, I wouldnt mind going with a group of car guys either. That way I dont end up walking around with someone saying "this car has blah blah blah and blah blah blah, isnt it cool?" And then they look at me as if I started talking spanish and then switched to english. Go figure!
fantastixvoyage 12-17-2003, 06:15 PM Well is this the start of winter??? I'm going on a road trip over the holidays and its going to suck if we get a lot of snow. I don't mind it for skiing and won't think twice about snow once I get my D back on the road!
Is there supposed to be anything of interest at the Auto Show? Seems to be a quiet year from the OEMs.
If I get pre-show passes again this year, I'll let you guys know.
It's nice to actually look inside cars like the Ferrari F1 and get good pictures as well.
Neil, the lift is 100% operational. Let me know when you need it.
andylv 12-17-2003, 10:38 PM I'm bringing 6 guys that work for me to the auto show supplier day on the 8th. Hopefully this year the Bimmers in the show will have the doors unlocked so we can get in them.
Deez...I'll let you borrow my fender roller if you hook me up with a 2.93 diff.
Come on...hook a brutha up!
fantastixvoyage 12-18-2003, 03:06 PM EMC - Thanks for the heads-up. I'll give you a call tonight to see when you'll be availible - maybe saturday.
BoostFed325 12-19-2003, 12:20 AM i need a roller like thers no tommarow when i get tires
If you want, I can drop it off on the 24th when I pass through GR. If you can be done with it so I can pick it up on the 26th, that would work for me....
fantastixvoyage 12-23-2003, 05:22 PM Happy Holidays everyone!!! Boss says its time to go home and I'm not one to argue:D
Heading to FL so wish me luck as snow plus BMW w/summer tread could equal: :bawl
Maybe I should hit up Belle Tire before I leave town????
DSrugis 12-23-2003, 07:30 PM Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone has a safe and great holiday.
Dave
BoostFed325 12-26-2003, 07:02 PM ok for real guys.

BoostFed325 12-28-2003, 10:01 PM i think us west siders should just get out to the east because there seems to be more of you there.
road trip deez :)
We could meet at my shop. It's right off I-96 in Livonia.
tasmisr 12-28-2003, 11:12 PM Pick up a date, these days everybody is busy with the holidays.. someday in january would be fine..
EMC: I'm gonna order the Pads/Rotors tomorrow.
Axxis Ultimates, right?
Buy the euro M3 rotors from Pacific BMW. They are something like $109 each...and the centers are aluminum so they don't get rusty.

I was going to call Andie tomorrow, to get both..
For the Pads , I'm gonna get Axxis Ultimates..
For the rotors, I wasn't sure , but thx for the suggestion..
So euro M3 rotors are stock, right? and fits the MZ3? the prices sounds very good...
Edit: are we gonna get the calipers paint from a local store?
I forgot about the calipers...Hmmm.
I use foliatec paint, but you can't drive the car for a while after putting it on.
M3 rotors are the same for the MZ3, M3, and M Coupe

Seriously,, I could do this later as a DIY thing..
Ralliart 12-29-2003, 02:03 AM EMC, are you going to be around on Monday or Tuesday? I'd like to check out the shop and the car.
And, if you wouldnt mind I've gotta change the oil in mine. Just picked up a case of Mobil 1 at Sam's club. Has anyone found it cheaper than $23 for a case?
tasmisr 12-29-2003, 06:05 PM I ordered the Axxis Ultimates and ZimmerMan rotors, the zimmerman fronts are for 230$ (for the four wheels)... Euros M3 are like 100$ more.. should be here by next week.
Yeah Rob, I'll be around tonight and tomorrow afternoon/evening. Just give me a call and let me know if that works for you.
tasmisr 12-29-2003, 11:11 PM Erik, Andie from Cobalt friction told me that I will not be able to fit the sensors with the after market pads/rotors, and I have to disconnect the dash light .. Do u know of nay workaround that will let me have this feature?
THX!
I can get rid of the light without pulling the instrument cluster. Honestly, the light is a waste of time to have, since you can simply look at your brake pads and tell if there is nothing left. Thats all the light does.

DeezBMW 01-01-2004, 12:29 PM Damn Matthew!! You have been busy!! I got a couple suprises myself for the spring but i don't know if I can pull them all off. I got some of the carbon fiber stuff for the inside. I may have found a good price on the Porsche BBK for the front and if I can come up with the cash I got a line on a cheap used AA supercharger kit directly from AA. :D
I will get those arms out to you next week. I will drop them off. Thanks again for letting me use them!!
Wheres your motor from?
Oh and EMC, I'll find you a diff. for use of the fender roller!! Just have a wait a few weeks, I wont have a mobile car for a little bit.
fantastixvoyage 01-02-2004, 01:45 AM Damn guys! I leave for a couple days and what a flurry of activity! Seems like everyone is working like crazy on their rides. Personally I haven't done a thing to the 328 I got a couple months ago and the bug is starting to set in! Well I guess I should finish my lift and trans swap (that I'm both about halfway on) in my primary ride first eh???
Anyways just wanted to let you guys know that yesterday I was laying on the beach in Clearwater soaking in rays and enjoying the 85 degree weather yesterday. And so I brought a little warmer weather back with me for ya'll to enjoy:D

hehe,, where did u go? FL?
BoostFed325 01-04-2004, 05:29 AM im about to buy a bbk myself i got 2800 set aside for one. im not sure what i wanna get tho or ever where
fantastixvoyage 01-04-2004, 10:09 PM Tas - ya I went to FL. It was great to get out of MI for awhile. It was also nice to open up my car for the first time - had a vibration at about 110-:( Made the trip from Tampa to Detroit in under 16hrs:buttrock
EMC - I'm still plugging away at the trans removal. Have you done a newer dodge 4x4? If you have I got a couple questions for ya. PM me.
I'm down for another get together if anyone's got time this week. Maybe the Post (Auburn Hills) for lunch or after work.
tasmisr 01-04-2004, 10:17 PM waw, 16 hours is pretty good...you must have a radar detector to be brave like that....you might need some wheel alignment for the vibration ...
Are u guys fans of the Pistons?? I bet you are.. It will be so much fun to go the Pistons game on Wed against Housten, Yaaaaaaaw gonna be there..
fantastixvoyage 01-04-2004, 11:00 PM No radar just hopes and prayers!!! Actually I'd usually get lucky and find other wannabe speed racers and be able to convoy with them. Figure my chances of getting pulled over a pretty slim with someone ahead and behind me. Georgia really sucks - troopers everywhere!
I'm going to check my tire balance first them maybe a front alignment if that doesn't solve it.
Anyone interested in Jeff Foxworthy comedy show tickets - got two extra. Saturday Jan 10 at 4:00pm Front and center. Fox Theater Detroit. Let me know they gotta go!
Only 2wd Dodge Truck for me...
BoostFed325 01-05-2004, 09:07 AM deez i got my motor from some place i cant remember the name :) lol, its out by muskegon
im geting a really good deal they are taking my 2.5 and tranny in for trade.
im only spending 2000ish... i really wanted a 3.2 but thats a really good deal.
DSrugis 01-05-2004, 07:48 PM Wow, I leave for a bit (Kentucky on business, New York on pleasure, and Las Vegas-started as business and ended as pleasure) and I am like 3 pages behind. Hope everyone had a good holiday.
Dave
BoostFed325 01-06-2004, 12:24 AM does anyone know where i can bring my hm2's to get the lip polished? and my s/c as well.
phillym5 01-06-2004, 03:00 AM whats up fellas. Im new to this forum. im also now somewhat new to Michigan.(havent lived here in 10 years.) I drive a highly modified M5. Im in Grand Rapids. Im down for some meets this spring.
BoostFed325....I have no idea were to get the lips polished. when i had mine redone this past summer, i sent them to a buddys of mine in Philadelphia(Auto addictions). Basically its 200 per wheel. it would take about two weeks.
EMC...your car sound like a real monster. It reminds me a my friends Dados car. Hes got a AA turboed E36 m3. Its SUPER fast. throws flames out the exaust. Plus its geared for 215 MPH. Hes actually in Detriot right now.
josh.
BoostFed325 01-06-2004, 03:07 AM hey josh i was there when you raced the truck out by 28th street over the summer in not sure if you remember or not...
good to see you posting here :)
BoostFed325 01-06-2004, 03:11 AM josh do you like how the wheels turned out?
i really want to get the lip polished i think it would make hm2's 10x's better
phillym5 01-06-2004, 03:20 AM Boostfed
yeah i remember that. the wheels came out dope. they do an exellent job there. let me know if you need there contact info.
josh.
DeezBMW 01-06-2004, 05:25 AM Hey whats up Josh. I wondered if you would make your way on here. Glad to see you posting.
We will definately have to make a little road trip down to see the Detroit area guys this summer/spring. I gotta get a ride in EMCs car myself.
Whats Dado here for, the car show?
I actually saw your wheels come through UPS when they were on there way back to you. Turned out good huh?
You still teaching out at Centerpoint?
Well, hope to see you around some more!!

yeah, hes there for the car shoe.
opening my mail huh......that could get you 10 years.:nono J/K.
josh.
This spring there should be a turbo M3, locally, that will tear up most anything on the road. I'll have to lower compression and up my boost just to keep sight of it!
IwantMCoupe 01-06-2004, 12:54 PM huh, car show?

Actually I never got to see them. They were packed up pretty tight. I just saw that they were going to your house and that they were BIG. Can't wait to see them though. :D
fantastixvoyage 01-06-2004, 01:39 PM EMC - a BMW to beat yours?! Are you building that M3 as well?
Yeah....It would be Mike A's white M3. That thing is going to be one of the highest RWHP M3's country by the time we are done....or so I hope. So long as the motor holds together, there won't be another bmw around that could touch it in a straight line race.
See...I'm already talking smack about it and the motors not even back in it yet!
fantastixvoyage 01-06-2004, 06:19 PM E46 or E36 M3?
BoostFed325 01-07-2004, 03:42 AM haha emc you have to be positive :)
when its done plz kill the wrx by 500 cars. thx
tasmisr 01-07-2004, 11:30 PM I want to turbo mine too !! but can't afford it now..
Hey Eric, I got the brake parts today,, what is a good time to do it? I work from 9 to 5 weekdays and I'm free in weekends..I'm not in a hurry since I won't drive it for the next 2 months.
Ralliart 01-08-2004, 12:05 AM In tasmisr's sig
400 watt Redford Fosgate speakers/amps.
Redford Fosgate, lol. I've never heard of that brand before. ;)
Anytime after this Saturday is okay. Hopefully some of this snow will be gone soon. I'm tearing out much of the office area so I can fit two more cars in the shop. I'll probably have 4 M-powered cars in there within the next two weeks.
The BIG turbo car is an E36 M3....belongs to Mikea

What kind of money are we talking to have you build me a turbo for my car? Its an OBD1 3.2.
Just as a rough estimate...
450 hp can be had for maybe $8500 or less.
That includes the TEC3 plug-n-play standalone ecu and a FULL stainless exhaust.
AA can't come close to that price or power for a bolt on kit. You don't even need to pull the cylinder head to lower compression.
Also, I only use aluminum for IC pipes and stainless for exhaust. All the clamps are stainless t-bolt and the exhaust clamps are v-band. You can pull the downpipe and exhaust off the car within 15 minutes.
Stocking the parts to build complete kits and upgrade parts is not cheap. I don't even want to think about how much money I've spent in the last three months.
tasmisr 01-09-2004, 11:24 PM In terms of cost, I might achieve this high power by selling mine and getting older M3 for about 12K and going FI ,, this would be awsome but I would miss the roadster
sl0moti0n 01-15-2004, 04:02 PM Hey guys, I hope you are all well. I haven't been on for a while as I've been pretty busy.
Hey EMC, how are you man! car looks great, I'm assuming youre done with it. I got my UUC SS and installed it myself. I love it. Anywaise, I bought some NGK plugs and since installing them I noticed that when I start my car first thing in the morning to let it warm up the revs tend to drop real low and then jump right back up to normal, it's actually stalled on me three times. Why would it be doing this? Is there anything you can do to help me out with this problem?
Also, I'm thinking of doing some new shocks/springs this spring. By getting coilovers I will be able to adjust the height to my liking right? Maybe you could help me with this too?
let me know,
Jim
BoostFed325 01-16-2004, 09:51 AM hey jim :)

im not really sure why...

Dave
DeezBMW 01-17-2004, 03:11 PM Yeah mostly the carbon fiber. It lookes just like the e46 sport wheel minus the carbon fiber. Mostly paying for the name. (I just like the carbon fiber part of it)
BoostFed325 01-19-2004, 01:05 PM ya probably 1k like my hamann wheel i want
