Since looking at realoem, the linkage for the transmissions i have are different. The one from the 87 5'er has more of an arm that connects shifter lever to tranny, and the one in wolfie is like a shaped piece of sheet metal. Although the 5'er linkage seems to be adjustable from where it mounts to the trans tunnel. I want to use the 5er linkage because its new, and wolfies linkage is shot, does anyone know if i will be able to use the linkage from the 5er?

Hm. Check the lengths involved. To use the newer one, you will have to bolt up the plate to the trans tunnel by drilling a hole in the body and bolting through it.

i saw on realoem for the 83 6er that it could have both types of linkage. hoping this is tru...ill just swap them then. the drilling doesnt seem to hard either. I actually used a sawsall to get the linkage disconnected from the trans tunnel in the 5er. hopefully i dont have to do much more fabricating that just drilling and bolting though. i dont like making complex stuff from scratch...dont have enough practice yet!
