Is there a longer than normal wait time on a new 335i order? One dealer told me 8 weeks.

I just heard the samething form a dealer in FL.. At least 8 weeks, maybe January... :(

At least 8 weeks sounds right. I ordered on 10-11 and it just went production today, which puts it at 8 weeks best case, 10 weeks at the latest.

Are dealers marking them up at all? It's interesting that the BMWUSA web site won't let you build your own coupe with accessories. You can pick a color and an interior but that's it. That part of the site isn't working. I'm getting ready to go to a few Chicago area dealers for quotes.

I ordered a 335i from Knauz in Lake Bluff in Mid September and at that point the most they took of the sticker was $500 (or say they say). I got $1200 off because we're "loyal" customers. My car is currently En Route so hopefully I'll have it by early November.

Maybe a temporary glitch? It's always worked for me (and it worked for me when I tried it right now).

Several dealers here in Southern Calif have 335 and 328 coupes listed in their inventory (and thus presumably unsold), so I don't think the lead time is any different than for any other 3-series. That would put it at about 4-5 weeks East Coast and 6-7 weeks West Coast from the start of production.

The dealer knows a month in advance what cars he gets for the next month and the week they would be scheduled for production. When you order a car they simply put your options on one of those cars so if they're up front with you (unfortunately some aren't), they can tell you when production is scheduled to start.

I put mine on order last week and was told mid december at the best early january at the worst.

Mine was ordered 9-25-06 and was loaded on the ship yesterday 10-25-06 out of Bremerhaven. It is scheduled to be 15 days to Charleston. It looks like just ~ 7 weeks total for me.

Great choice. Mine is the same with the exception that mine is auto. Mine didn't take 15 days to cross so you may be getting your earlier than you think.

I ordered mine on 10-8 the website still says that mine is on order. Did you find out that yours went on production from the dealer or website?

Actually mine just went on production today WOOHOO

I think my dealer must be a little uniformed... I ordered mine 10/23 and he said late November or early December. By your estimation Dec 11th to Dec 25th seems more realistic. Merry Christmas to me!

Even though I placed the order on thrusday, the dealer still has to wait in line to be able to place his order. I call him next week to see if he was able to do it. If I'm lucky I'll get it by mid to late Jan but more likely Feb. It's gettin to be Winter here in Chicago and it might be spring before I get my Montego blue, black leather with brushed aluminum, 335i. Ah, anything worth having is worth waiting for..
