View Full Version : Village Prick
TransHuman 10-23-2006, 01:11 PM Sorry to say that this weekend some fine NYC resident decided to vandalize my car while I had it parked on the street in the village. It's unbelievable that some NYC residents, after everything that city has endured, still insist on being so disrespectful as to vandalize someone else car. I'm glad that this individual just wrote "Big Phoney" on my windshield with a marker...but I just don't get it..I presume it's because I have Dinan wheels on the car..it's the only reason I can suspect since I really don't know anyone in the village who would know my car (or me!).
Obviously the person was aware enough about the car to single it out...just thought I'd pass on the story to the board so you guys help stop this sort of crap in your city.
:rolleyes

Sorry that happen to your car man. Yes crappy shit happens here but you know what, you have to also look at the population density here. It'll happen in any big city. You just got unlucky unfortunately.

Kind of sounds like he got singled out though...
sucks though.
cong13 10-23-2006, 04:30 PM It could also have been mistaken identity... perhaps someone with a similar car did somthing to this person....
I am not makeing excuses for this person... they did a crappy thing.... I guess (and hope) you can get marker off of a window eaiser than off of your paint....
TransHuman 10-23-2006, 05:30 PM No probs..the marker came off with a tissue paper..well maybe mistaken identity..but in NY when I have MD plates? Maybe..also not too many M3s configured like mine anyway...very strange..also considering the cars you see parked in NYC on the street..I mean a Ferrari 360 in the city? Come on...talk about phoney! People are crazy man..like I said..you'd hope that New Yorkers of all people would understand about respect and kindness to others..what a freak show!

:rofl thats basically all thats needs to be said. I severely doubt that whoever did this, in his drunk/high/etc retardness, noticed your Dinan rims and thought "lets f*ck with this dude"
Shit is going to happen on NYC streets, whether you have a yugo or a lambo..... next time pay the money to use a parking garage
ontheroadagain 10-23-2006, 06:22 PM talk about phoney!
It was definately one of your friends.. its from family guy.. peter was 'playing' a piano in wallmart (it was playing music and he was making it look like he was playing) and some guy comes up and hes like 'you're a BIG PHONY! Hey everyone, this guys a big phony!' then when peter is leaving he sees the guy keying "BIG PHONY" into the side of his car, then the guy calls him a big phony again. It was pretty random.

Thanks for that man....it's a good thing I hadn't realized all that - since I've been going to NYC for most of my life. Colesville is just outside of DC in case geography had escaped you, I'm not a stranger to city life.
Anyway..I wasn't looking for an explaination of why it happened..just wanted to share the story.
vespo88 10-24-2006, 04:23 PM i wouldnt be worried.. its no biggie. if it isnt a friend or family member, its just some guy that is prob a little jealous thats all. nothing to go bonkers over.
AndrewH 10-24-2006, 04:56 PM it was obviously a random prank that some kid did to fuck with you, and apparently it worked because you made a thread about it. ;)

I never park my car in the street. Pay the piper and park it in a lot. It will be cheaper than fixing a ding, scratch, ticket or god forbid a tow.
I pay and that's the end of it. The night ends and I drive home happy that my car is intact.
I also tip the guy that parks my car before he parks it and make sure that we go over the whole car together.
When I tell them it does not have a ding or scratch, they and don't believe me, but they laugh when they realize i'm right.
When I return, the car is always in a nice spot and never have a problem. knock on wood!!!!!!.
It cost money to have a nice car in a large city. When I don't want to care I take the beater and park it anywhere. That's why it's a beater.
Good luck.

I manage a couple of parking lots in midtown, and this is the best way to do it, also dont be a prick, you are leaving your nice car with them, so treat them right and most attendants will treat you the same.

110% Correct. I tip them very well, (most people give the waiters 20% and the bar tenders $1.00 per drink so I don't insult them with a lowball tip), I treat them with respect and they are way cool in return.
It also helps that I'm hispanic and we love to BS and love our rides. We usually end up BSing about the car and considering they park nice cars all day, they know their stuff.
I sold one attendant one of my previous cars because he knew how much I took car of it. He still has it.

I hope the parking attendants are a little more careful than the kids they hire to do valet. I got some friends who do that as a part time job while they go to school.... stories stories stories :devillook
