So after putting back together (twice) we have an extra wire connector coming off the passenger side wiring harness.

Can a 530i owner go out and take their top cover off for me and snap some pics of where all those wire go? I think that may be why my car isn’t starting.

Any help is appreciated!

Not yet, but we found the problem! Looks like I have a bad camshaft sensor.

These cars have too many sensors. But they all do something, so I guess it is not a waste :)

Eh my bad, it was the crankshaft sensor, not the camshaft sensor.

Yep, a wire that goes nowhere. It is for cars without ASC I guess. Brosher came over to my house and he has the exact same extra wire on his 540i.

I think I know which wire(s) your talking about, I have the same 2 in my car that I cannot figure out where they go.
