Anyone in this area know of some really good roads/highways for tearing it up?:D

Yes try Rte 12 north of the WI/IL border for high speed runs.

I always liked scaring the blue hair on Sheridan Road through the North Shore :)

:lol: Sheridan Road isn't neccessarily a good place to top out, but it does have a nice 1/2 mile ravine. They road turns left and right, perfect for handling.

RT 12... I am going to check that out.

There are so many cool little back roads with twisties here in MI...Except there also seems to be a high percentage of drivers that think everyday is sunday.

I hate drivers who think everyday is Sunday. Backroads are fun near me, but the cops know it too:(

Late night blasts down the new lower wacker drive are a blast, my Triflo sounds awesome. Too bad it annoys the shit out of me the rest of the time driving on the highway!!! I gotta say, as a M owner I feel deprived living in Chicago, the roads here just flat out suck. Before this I was in Northern California and had my pick of wonderful twisties to hit, oh well.

Ya. How is the new Wacker Drive? I haven't been down there yet. is there more room?

Its great, I live 2 blocks from the entrance so at night I'll take a ride on it for kicks. There are typically very few cars, there is one corner that is kinda blind, you come around it and a traffic light is right there, so if its red you gotta really stomp on the brakes. But living downtown, its about the most fun I get to have. Roads suck, my rims are beat to s**t

I imagine it would be hard to keep a car nice living in downtown. God people drive like morons down there. Not to mention the cabbies.

Its not too bad, the car is garaged most of the time, mostly take the train to work. I do the true reverse commute from the city to the suburbs. You just have to be aggressive with the cab drivers. The hardest part is on the rims and suspension, those roads are so bad around downtown. Could be worse though, was driving in NYC a couple of weeks ago and was astoounded at the size of some of the potholes there... scary.

Kettle Moraine up here in WI - on the way to ELkhart and Road America!!!!!! :D

Trust me, those roads are built for BMWs and other fine handling cars (Hondas)

hwy 12 is nice! the stretch from wisconsin dells to madison is FULL of nice twisty roads (and cops) but the roads and the view are worth it!

Has anyone hit up 294? I think it is a great copless road. I don't see to many other bimmers on it when I am though:dunno

That is my fav one, but its not lighted up well
94 is my favorite, but its a risk you never know when a pig will pop up

94 isn't as great as 294 because 94 is more prone to having dumbass drivers on it. I usually only go 100 at most on 94.

but you are right 94 does have numerous dumbasses

thats why i think there needs to be a lane just for the nice cars.
Its a fact a BMW will handle better and stop better going 100 compared to a Neon or a Ford, its sad but thats how it is.

So i propose we keep the crappy cars on one side :clap:

well when the crappy car in the right lane losses control and skid across 3 lanes then we have got a problem :) speaking from past experience with a crappy honda trying to race me :rolleyes:

Problem with 294 is that it's poorly lit, and it's hard to tell who the cops are. I had a cop pull up next to me when I was doing a measly 80mph (was't using radar, so the V1 wasn't lit up), look at me, and flash 5-5 with his hands. Oddly enough, I get into more races in my Xterra on 294 than my M3. Don't do I-90 east of O'Hare. That's where I got caught going 120mph. :( Burnt a Prelude or something pretty badly, twice, then out of nowhere an unmarked came up on my ass.

Problem with 294 is that it's poorly lit, and it's hard to tell who the cops are.

I agree, it can be pretty dark. Sunday night there was a deadly accident just north of the border in Kenosha. The whole southbound highway was shut down.

I was able to average 85mph coming back from Milwaukee though, it was damn windy.
