quick question. iheard on bmwe34.net that intakes actually decrease hp. this true, i mean does it just decrease peak power but increase hp in the powerband or vice versa.what the verdict fellas ?

The OEM BMW intake goes a very good job of drawing in cold air, and is not restrictive. An aftermarket cone filter will sound louder, but will only draw in more hot engine compartment air, so it will make slightly less power.
