"ok here's what happened. I'll go over it exactly even stuff that doesn't need to be explained here. Chiff calls my cell and tells me to go out to the parking lot. I say "ok i'll be there". I run over there and I see her in her car. I get in the car and say "hey wanna try launch control???" She's like "yea". Then im like "cool". First I tell her "ok turn off dsc, press sport, and put it in S6." She does all of that. Then I go "press the stick forward and press the gas all the way". Now the RPM's are stuck at 1800. When she was ready to go I tell her to release the stick. It works but in between that a big ass exploding noise happens mid under the car. So then we stop. We drive it about 20 feet and there's this annoying grinding noise where the differential/tranny is. She was scared to drive so she let me drive it to her friends house. On the way there the noises would get somewhat louder. While I was driving it I noticed the RPM's are going higher than needed(slipping). Then when we get to the house the car smelled like ****. I knew it was the clutch because I burned mine before

Edit: DSC, TPW, and all those other lights came on while driving"

Sounds like a weak link couldnt take the launch control mode.

Anyways, if they take it to the dealer, most likely they will not know about launch control and will replace the defective part under warranty.

Ya, it sounds like you should get that under warranty.

Good luck!

Yup... definitely warranty. Something threw a SMG fault, maybe excessive clutch slippage?

What happened to BMW sayin there was a limit of 6 or somethin like that before the warranty was void??

in North america the launch control is limited to 1800 rpm but in europe its otherwise. they can do launch control at 5000rpm therefore they have a limit of 4 times before they go viod...i think it was 4 times though

There is no paper stating the launch control is void after X launches... henceforth, the launch control is covered under warranty. However, the warranty has a specific stipulation for neglegence and abuse (which applies to the entire car, not just launch control).

The neglegence and/or abuse clause may apply if you find a bad dealer.
