Hey everyone. Some of you may recognize me from the OT forum,M3 E36 forum, etc. but this is my first time posting here. Reason is that I was in a car accident this past Friday (the 13th) and totalled the M3. I am looking into getting an X5. Can anyone help me out with my purchase? Tips?

What are the main differences between the 3.0, 4.4, and 4.6 (besides 20" wheels, and performance). Any recommendations? I was thinking of getting a 4.4 and dropping the OEM 20's on it.

:dunno :help :)

Get the 4.4i :)

The differences are really just the ones you listed, wheels and performance, as well as the exhaust tips out back. The 3.0 have single tip exhausts (dull), the 4.4i have rolled dual tip exhausts (classy), and the 4.6is, to my knowledge, has rolled oval tips (not exactly sure though.

Also the 4.6is has a little more body work differences out in the lower front and rear with body colored panels.

Hope this helps and sorry to hear about your M3, hope everyone is ok :)

Sorry, I didn't know where it would get noticed. I made a thread in the X5 forum which many people (other than moderators) don't read very often, and I made one here. You can delete them if you wish. I just need some quick advice.

Nah, we'll keep it here ;)

Better chance of getting responses with two threads :)
