anyone know about how much it would be to get a tranny flush done...and a shop that can do it? gwinnett area preferably. or should i just do the drain refill thing?

not sure if or when the last one was done on this car.

i'll have to let you know as im still debating whether to go this route or just do the drain/refill. heard some not-so good stories about a tranny flush on cars with high mileage.

you work in service dept? or just know people that work there? should i try to let you know first or just stop by there?

It's not too hard to do yourself. I just did mine on my 87 iS with 220K on the clock. I used Redline fluids to replace what was in there. I found that Mustangs Unlimited had the best prices for Redline fluids and they're on Breckinridge in Duluth.

did you do a full flush or just drain and refill? do you know when was the last time it was changed?

At that mileage I would simply drain, put in a new filter, and refill. You can do that a couple more times over the next year to get most of the fluid replaced. Bad things happen when you pressurize an old auto tranny.

No one has said anything about the thread title yet? We must be getting rusty...
