K, I know this may seem somewhat silly or whatnot to some... but I'm in the process of refurbishing/redoing my '86 735i and wanted to change the knob on the shifter (automatic) - anyone know if the round knob from a E46 (with the plunger replaced with the original E23 one) will work? I don't care much for the 'offset T' that comes stock with the E23.
