What are your thoughts on the new X5?

looks great..i even love the plastic shroud design on the v8 looks as mean as it is *355hp!!!...the interior is ala typical bmw which i like in the x5, but im not feeling the electronic shifter it looks very smg like even though its a convienctional 6spd auto...shifter aside i think bmw has another hit under its belt

I like it. I kinda miss my 1st-gen X5 of which I replaced with an LR3 due to it being a 7-seater. So I guess I'll pass on this 2nd-gen X5 and wait for the 3rd-gen X5 when a 7-seater may no longer be necessary for me.

I like it. It is a nice refresh update on the exterior and interior. I am very happy they put the I-drive in the X5. I didnt like the previous nav. But, I think I will wait to see what 3rd engine they put in the X5. I hope the twin turbo 4.4 V8 goes in it.

what 4.4 turbo v8 does bmw have?? I know they used to have a turbo diesel v8 in the e38 7 series, not sure if one is in the e65 but the only diesel the 1st gen x5 got with the straight 6td motor and it was never sold here in the u.s

I own a 2002 4.4i and have a 2007 4.8i on order: Space Gray, Nav, Premium Sound, Ventilated Seats, Panorama moonroof, 3rd row. I think it looks like an outstanding evolution of the base shape of the first generation X5, which remains one of the best looking SUVs on the road. The bmw web site has a bunch of new features on the new X5 up and running if you want to see more.
