GREAT!

What type of meet would you guys prefer?

1. A meet/cruise (maybe down to brown county, parke county,etc) ?

2. A meet/dinner someplace downtown to just hangout?

3. A meet and a trip to Fastimes (indoor go-kart facility, real carts not kiddie carts.) to see who can click off the fastest laptime?

I personally wouldnt mind either one, or if anyone has suggestions for something else then lets hear em!

I would vote for option 1.

Highway 252 before martinsville to 135 then to 45
is a good drive. Then to 446 south around to Beford
then to williams. Neat drivable covered bridge there.

How far is this whole thing from West Lafayette? I'm not from Indiana... so I'm not too familiar with the area. Is this bmw only? Only euro? The reason I ask is because I'm in PAPA here (Purdue Automotive Performance Association) and we hava a ton of nice cars, just not all euro.

Kipp@Modtech
10-19-2006, 10:35 AM
w. lafayette is about an hour-hour and half north of indy.. depending on where you go in indy. I am open to other types of cars.. but can't speak for everyone.

Has anyone been on Little Eagle Creek or Cherry Tree Rd. in the noblesville area? those roads are awesome.. but could be rough if your car is really low. and they are kinda short..

Does everyone want to meet in Downtown Indianapolis and then decide what to do from there? We could all park in the mall parking garage on the 2nd level. If we enter the mall garage that is off of the South side of Washington St. we should all be able to park together. We could then walk across the street and grab a bite to eat at Jillian's. There is normally enough parking that everyone could park together.

If the majority of the people are coming from the Northside I would suggest meeting in Castleton and drive somewhere from there.

Just throwing out this idea so we are not trying to last minute this.

WARWICKBASS1111

The idea that was decided upon was a meet then cruise to brown county.

But, since no one has chimed in from that area of the thread recently, it may have gotten to cold for some people to still be up for that.

I'm game for whatever. Lets hear it people!

Wow, so this meet looked promising at first, then everyone just kinda left and never came back and it was just us 3 hahaha.

I would love to connect but too many irons in the fire. Winchester calling here, '97 M3/4.

OT (sort of)... I had personal business in Bedford this summer and found an hour to kill so I drove down US50 to Shoals (scenic route), then 450 back to Bedford. Man, oh man...nice little drive. Lots of 20/30mph corners on 450 coming back and very smooth. If I had it to do again, I would probably do 450 both ways. I was a nice, sometimes tense. Now THAT'S rush hour! Coupled with a little Rush playing, it was theme-based. :^)

Any other roads I should know about? I live in eastern Indiana but know most of that type of fun is southern third of the state...

I've been trolling Bimmerforums for a while, but never looked at the regional forums.

Anyway, I'm live in Fishers and work on the NW side. I don't get out much for extra-ciricular activites, but I try when I can.

My six is "luxorbeige", kind of like a champagne because of the metallic. Dave at Import Auto on 7th St tells me that there is a black one that buys parts and I mistakenly received an eMail from a guy at Cummins who turns out to also have a six! Plus there is a ragged six for sell at a used car dealer at the intersection of 7 and 31.

Haven't seen the 8 series yet, but I don't get into Columbus as often as I used to. There seem to be several 3 series of different years running around and I've seen a couple of '80's 5ers and there is an '80's 735 just down the road.

Do you ever get up to Indy for the BMWCCA?

New guy checking in from Indy...just came across this thread but please let me know if you guys throw together a meet anytime soon. Would love to head down to Lexington, but I'm heading to TN July 5-9 to our cabin to hang out and run the Tail of the Dragon...

Spend some time on e46fanatics also, same user name.

How about a Fastimes meet next weekend?

Can't make it next weekend (in TN)...but fastimes would be great for a meet. My boss was just there in May and said Sarah Fisher was doing a promo type thing, and not really impressing anyone with her times. I've never been myself, even though I live pretty close (Geist area).

Anyone wanna help me do some rear rotors and pads on the coupe? Money/food/drink is involved!!! I've done it on my integra but am very paranoid and I don't want to mess it up.

Howdy all...Indy native here. I'm based out of there and would like to hook up with other members when I'm town. I'll probably be pretty active here as I'm currently involved in a manual trans conversion on my 840ci. I travel quite frequently but could fly in for a meet. I too would go for option 1 and the route mentioned.

There's nothing to mess up really...wheel comes off, remove the calipers, smack the crap out of the rotors with a rubber mallet (they will probably be stuck), put the new pads and rotors on, and you're pretty much done. Make sure to pinch off the brake line with vice grips or something and you may not even have to bleed. Some people use a c-clamp to push the piston back in, but I can usually do it by hand after taking the lid off the fluid resevoir. Just don't push so hard it overflows. Some anti-seize on the rotors and some anti-squeal on the back of the pads and you should be all good. There's several diy's..try bmw325i.net...if you've done the integra, you should have little problem.

Early August sounds good, because I will be getting back from vacation then and I leave for school a few weeks into August.

How about tentatively planning on August 5th at Fastimes.
If we get interest in this date, we can make a seperate thread so more people will see it.

Anything in the N Indiana area happening this week? I am in Marion for work and wouldn't mind meeting up with fellow enthusiasts.

I'm working in Fort Wayne this summer (commuting from Warsaw), neither of which are far from Marion. I don't know of anything going on but I'd be up for a meet.

I know Righteous lives near me too, he might be up for something.

Yeah i might be up for something :)

Btw, it seems like there are a bunch of new E36s in Warsaw now. Nothing really nice, but at least the Bimmer community is growing. Hopefully I am getting this red 328is this weekend.

roarf

Yeah, pretty much the only one I ever see though is the red 325is owned by the high schooler. Although there was a somewhat ricey black E36 parked at Global Auto over the weekend. :shifty I did see yours parked at Steak n Shake one time a while back.

It was cheaper for me to fly than drive so I dont have my bimmer. But if anyone wants to chill tomorrow (WEDS) night, I'm game.

Are you in Indy? If so, you can help me check out my LSD to make sure it's working properly. Plan on swapping it out Saturday with another forum member from Ohio.

I will!! I was going to be out of town, but I have to clean up some of the cars and get them all polished up for summertime.
