Ask your salesman to print out the vehicle history for you. It shows the time and date that your car entered and exited each of the shops (ex: paint shop, engine installation, etc.).

302. USA only according to Ron Stygar. Actuall VIN starts at 000, but VINs 000-032 are BMWNA fleet vehicle only and will likely NOT be sold to customers. Styar has 034 I think, which would make it one of the very first customer sold cars in the U.S.

I think they build much more. Take 3 series. They sell aroun 4,000 per month in US, so I guess this number should doubled considering worldwide. Z has much less production, let's say 10 times less, then we should see around 1,000 units in a month. So 200 is too low estimate. I believe sales numbers are official, I am just too lazy to dig. Are you?

Actually - the first 33 cars have started surfacing as used cars - after reading practically every road test and magazine review I could find and seeing how the first 33 cars were driven before their breakin period was up, I sure wouldn't want one of these cars!!! :eek:

Not "M" coupes - more like 60 if I recall correctly. #200 was built sometime in June I believe. #300 was built in August.

Mine is 101 and was built 5/06, so it looks like they built 100 cars in JUST May. They obviously slowed down and built much less for June-Sept.

Not sure, but I think production started back in March or April - yours is the 102nd, just probably not of 102 all built in May.

That I understand. It was just that it seemed that they built 100 in May and then built about 50 a month for June/July/August/Sept.
