Hey folkers! I have an '04 X5 and I'm thinking of purchasing the Prolumens HID. I've read on the X5world about relays but was wondering if those are for the pre facelifts. Would I be getting a warning light if I install these Prolumens? Also how does the bixenon work because currently my X5 have high beams on the same lighting as the DRL? Anybody done this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The Bi-Xenon have both high and low beams working on the outer headlights. There's a shutter to let more light out when in high beam mode. The regular halogen high beams (inner lights) are used for "flash to pass" since those HIDs can't turn on fast enough to just flash. The way to select one of the high beams are by using the turn signal stalk. Push the stalk away from you opens up the HID shutter for your Bi-Xenon. Pull the stalk toward you will turn on the halogen high beams. Thus, only one or the other may be use at any one time.

Sorry, can't help you out on the other questions :(

Thanks. That makes sense. Now I wonder how that would work for aftermarket conversions like McCulloch, Kaixen, Prolumens, etc. Would I need bi-xenons or just low beams? Anybody want to chime in on this? Thanks.
