Sort of a problem with my '02 325 Ci's interior. On the driver's side around the front of the window, the upholstery, whatever material it is, is separating from the rubber.

Anyone else have similar issues? If so, what adhesive would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!

Oh! Another issue with my car, how wonderful.
Sometimes, the car seems to be drifting a bit to the left, and I am positive that it has nothing to do with the slope of the road. None of my tires appear to be low, so could my alignment be off?

Appreciate it!

I don't know what adhesives people are using on here but at the dealer we replaced the "edge protector" as they are called by bmw. I've seen where some people glue them but I'm not sure how long they last. As for the vehicle pulling, it's probably your alignment.

Thanks, any idea how difficult it would be for me to mess with the alignment myself? Or would that best be left for the dealer to do?

3M makes a black weather strip adhesive that I've had limited sucess with - but better than anything else I've tried. Best way to go about this is to cut the part that is separated from the strip with a razor right about the point where it meets up with the dash and then completely separtate it all the way back to the right angle at the rear upper edge of the door glass. Then put a bead of adhesive in the cup of the separated piece AND on the part that's still on the car. Then carefully press the two back together and then tape it into place with masking tape at about 12 inch intervals. Let it sit overnight and carefully remove the tape in the morning. What happens is the seal is made of two pieces that are joined together and made of two different materials. The separated piece shrinks with age and separates from the other part. This shrinking is what pulls it apart from the seal attached to the body (and the reason it has to be cut. There will be a small 1/2 inch gap where you cut it, but I've found this to be the least noticeable location).

Hmm, I don't really feel like taking it apart that much. It really isn't too noticeable and I was just wondering if there was any adhesive that I could use as a fix. Appreciate the advice, perhaps I will use that if no other solution arises.

You know, after that long-winded explanation, I forgot to mention that if you simply cut off the part that is hanging at the 90 degree corner at the top rear edge of the window and down by the dash, you will hardly even notice that it's gone. And you'd be the only one that did notice, unless you told someone.

But I would notice... and it would bother me, because im rediculous like that.
