It's a matter of personal taste, but the 04 2.5 I had for a weekend seemed woefully underpowered, IMHO. I did, however, like how it handled very much. It was reasonably quiet and stable for a small SUV. I have an X5 and while it was no match for that car, it still was certainly a very nice-to-drive little brother SUV, and worth the money. I have since test-driven an 06 X3 3.0 and liked the power it offered. Again, it's no 4.4i, but I understand the 07 X3 3.0 is even more powerful. mihalis 10-16-2006, 11:58 PM thanks for the feedback man, they would not budge as much as I wanted in the price, so I didn't end up getting it. Thanks again for the feedback thoug. Gusto 10-17-2006, 12:59 AM there was an article in "bimmer" a few months ago about the x3 2.5. Ill see if I can find it tommorrow. mihalis 10-20-2006, 12:36 AM there was an article in "bimmer" a few months ago about the x3 2.5. Ill see if I can find it tommorrow. Yes, I read it, and I also read the 40K mile test that Motor Trend just completed as well. I wanted to get some opinions of some people who owned one, even though I didn't get one, I'm thinking of it as a future wife to be vehicle. Undertheradar 10-25-2006, 10:10 AM I had an '04 X3 for two years and absolutely loved it. It was a 6 speed manual transmission and gas mileage averaged 17-19 in town and close to 26 on the highway. Problem is, apparently most people don't want a manual tranny in an SUV so we really got screwed when we traded it in. |
