1998 BMW M3 Coupe – 66,500 Miles, Alpine White, 5 speed, Mulberry Interior, Vaders (power, heated), Sunroof
$16,500
I purchased this car in April of this year from a BMW enthusiast. The car was maintained by Don Field’s at Mr. M Car. Don is a well-known and respected BMW mechanic. Prior to purchase I had a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection) performed by Don. Compression and cold leak down tests were performed, which reported “stunning” values as quoted by Don. I love the vehicle, which is in great shape, however the timing of the purchase was not very well planned on my part. My wife and I had our first child in April, and prior to that I started a new job in February. The combination of the job and child has won the better part of my time, and I hardly get any time to drive the car. I commute by train during the week and walk to my LIRR station, so the car does not see anything but sun on the weekends. Depressingly enough, I have only put on about 500 miles since April. Enough of my sob story, here are some goodies the car comes with:
-TC Klein Smart Design D/A Coil Over System – Compression, rebound, and height adjustable
- Car was corner balanced at Mr M. Car and I haven’t adjusted the suspension since.
- Euro oil cooler with braided hose assembly
- JC Shark Injector
- Brand new Hawk HPS pads all around, Brand new Euro Front Floating Rotors, Brand new stock rear rotors
- Stainless steel brake lines
- New Kuhmo MX tires (1 Auto X on them)
- Turner Motorsport CF brake cooling ducts
- 3.46 LSD 40% with 3 clutches and max friction plates with Rogue engineering finned diff cover
- Rogue Engineering DMS dual muffler exhaust
- K&N FIPK
- X brace
- Euro Clear Lens Set
- Stud Kit
Maintenance:
All major fluids changed to synthetic/ high performance.
Transmission serviced; changed oil and cleaned-inspected & lubed 5th lube gear detent pin per TSB, new pilot bearing, pressure plate, release bearing.
Oil changed every 2500 miles with Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil by previous owner. I put Castrol Syntec 5w40 upon receipt of car.
Paint is a 9/10, interior is an 8/10, mainly due to a worn and cracked drivers bolster. Leatherique is a good, cheap option to restore this. Carfax reports one accident. The drivers side front quarter panel was replaced from a fender bender in a parking lot in 1999. No sign of body work, paint/body/gaps look perfect. The airbag light is on in the dash. The code was read which revealed a broken drivers side belt latch assembly. A new one will be provided with the car. I never got around to installing this. This is a very common part to go bad on these cars.
I will also add that when NYS DMV sent me the title to this car, they made an error on the mileage. I bought the car with 65,800 miles, and they mistakenly wrote 68,800 on the title. The car only has 66,300 on it right now. I have the bill of sale from the previous owner that shows 65,800. Don Fields could also support that this is the actual milage. There is no foul play going on, but I wanted to disclose everything. VIN # provided upon request.
