Okay so lastnight I went to a friend's house which was having a BBQ and one of my friends for some reason is a huge hater of the M3 ( prolly because it has dominated every car company out there which has tried to beat the M3) and came into the room and looked at me and said "Dude the new M3s are gonna get beat by the new Lexus 500s! Not just the M3 but the RS6 as well"

I was like what!?! No, no way is that gonna happen and I don't think BMW will let that happen. He was just going off saying that the Lexus 450 or 500 or something like that is gonna have 425hp or something and says that this time BMW is gonna get beat finally.


I tried to prove him wrong and was like I don't think so because when Audi came out with the V8 400hp or so w/ AWD it raced the e46 M3 and it still got beat by about 2 or more cars so I gaurantee you that I don't think BMW will lose.


What do you guys think about that? Do you think BMW will make sure that they dominate? Also has anybody heard about this assumed Lexus coming out and making numbers like that?

Well, you're kinda wrong. M3 didn't beat an Audi and not by car lengths. V8 400 horses owns. Top Gear comparo is already done and we knew who won. 5th gear also did a race track comparo and Audi ftw again.

Watch the video again I'll try and find it and you'll see that it still beats it in the straight line. Fifth Gear they race both the cars

I have seen that fifth gear episode as well and the Audi kills the M3 on the drap strip.

There's a significant difference between the Audi S4 and RS4. Even though they both have a 4.0L V8, the S4 is pretty much a dead heat with the e46 M3, and the RS4 will probably be about even with the e92 M3.

Elsewhere, someone reported that the new Lexus has been unveiled to dealers and will be called the ISF. It supposedly has a 5L V8 with 415 hp and "60 lb-ft. more than the new M3" (I wonder what would happen if the M3 had an infinite amount of torque). It has an 8 speed auto. That's an instant DQ for me (not like I could afford it anyway), but I don't know how that would compare performance wise to an equivalent engine with a six speed manual.

The RS4 absolutly decimates the M3. Its not even close. Theres one drag race where Jeremy misses a shift in the RS4 and he still owns the M3 by a couple car lengths.

soo when da new M3 comes out..its gonna blow away all competition temporarly until audi or whoever will come out wif a more powerful car.

m3 and rs4 are on different levels, look and the displacment and prices. I mean lets compare apples to apples at least. If you want to play like that put it against the m5 or m6 and see how fair that is.
