Hey guys,
Car is finally getting completed and have been told an accusump is a cheap and effective way to save the motor. It is a S54 motor and obviously has the oil housing w/ the 2 ports for a cooler. I have a large cooler to keep the temps down but am curious where the lines for the accusump go. The oil cooler should be plumbed in within the next couple of days and would like to know any details before Chuck and myself button everything up. Any help is appreciated from guys who run accusumps (Watts, Brad from Evosport etc..) Thanks guy

Jared

Yea, best bet is to contact Brad Directly.

I'm going accusump as well :)

If either of you two want a VAC oil distribution block, which makes hooking up the Accusump really easy, let me know.

Yeah,

Contact Brad directly. We are running a dry sump on mine, and an Accusump on Lagoni's S54. So far, the oil tests have come back similar. Lagoni is running the stock bearings and I am running some Evosport Special Bearings.

I do know that Lagoni has had to replace a couple of bearings over the past few race, and I have NOT!

So - call Brad.

Special Race bearings and a bottome end build is mandatory in my opinion.

Jared has motorsport bearings and some bottom end work I believe.

Swain tech coats bearings, according to my machine shop guy. Datsun Z-car guys run through main bearings, and they said the trick is to get them coated. Not sure how that works, but that's what the man said. Motorsport sells harder rod bearings, but those are probably made from pure diamond and probably cost more than their weight in platinum.

Yea, they are pretty expensive.

Evosport seems to have a good handle on the S54's now, definitely anyone interested get in contact with them.

And on a sidenote, james any luck finding those parts on the shelf?

Spoke with Brad directly and he was a huge help as always. The motorsport bearings I am running have a special coating on them which is tough as nails. Chuck showed me a set after a motor from GA lost oil pressure and they barely had any scoring.

Jared- Assuming the rest of the install went as planned, how is the Accusump holding up? Did you use the S54 VAC ODB?
Can you give some more info on the Motorsports bearings? How much did they run and where did you find them? I cant find any info.

Thanks,

The install went well and the accusump seems to be working fine. I did use the VAC ODB which I got from empty on here. I dont have much info on the motorsport bearings except from what I've heard/seen from Chuck. Also dont know what they cost but am sure they are not cheap. Car was finally dyno tuned last night.. Just a little video porn of one run

I have the dyno sheet right in front of me but am having trouble scanning it onto my computer. Max power/tq which was achieved was 357rwhp and 250rwtq. On this run, it was too lean up top and after richening it up a bit, chuck and felix got the A/F right where they wanted. The last run which I have the dyno sheet for reads 347.55rwhp and 248.62rwtq.. Not too bad considering it had about 15-20 dyno runs on it so it was pretty hot.

I believe the scientific term for that material from motorsport is "unobtanium".

no?

no?

Not so, put them in my S54 motor. Sunbelt did the deed.
