I'm about to order the GC slide adjustable front swaybar, but had recently been reading up on some stuff. I found more than a couple posts talking of the swaybar mounting tab tearing off the chassis. Should I be worried, and is there a way to reinforce this area/prevent this?

weld in a reinforcement plate with a hole drilled in the center? could be fairly easy.

It is the rear bar that has issues, Turner and TCDesign both make reinforcement plates.

Hey, that's me! :)
My car's actually getting fixed right now and it turns out we need to replace the mounts on both sides. This seems to be a VERY rare failure, though, so I don't think it's anything to be to concerned with if everything looks healthy under there.
It's all speculation as to why mine failed, but my thought is that it's because of the fact I went to sway bars only as my first suspension mod many years ago. With stock springs, it's my opinion that the sway bars and all the attachment points were just way over-worked. I broke several brackets and even had a slight issue with one of the bolts at one point because of it. I think it was just the built up fatigue that finally caused it to let go.
I've not seen or heard of any reinforcements... just the replacement pieces. :( As long as you actually tune your suspension properly, but either starting with stiffer springs or doing them at the same time, I wouldn't really worry about it too much.
