Has anybody gone to this school? They are partnered with NASA and BMW CCA I believe.
I'm interested since after school you can qualify for a competition license with either club.
Any imput?

I have done it before, good school and good instructors. I will be out there next weekend when they are holding the school. I might come play during the rolling starts if the school allows me. :D

That's the school you want to take and do well at (not impress people with how fast you are, but how smart and safe you are) to get your BMW CCA racing license application approved out here in the Pacific Region.

Good school, good instructors :)

I went out with them last year - outstanding event, good instructors, and excellent philosophy behind the teaching and testing.

I was at their school at Black Hawk Farms this past spring. Judy, Klaus and Patrick ran an excellent school. We spent a lot of time getting used to driving in close traffic and practicing rolling starts. They also practiced different scenarios - yellow flags, red flags, emergency vehicles on course etc etc. I came away very impressed and I felt like I learned quite a bit. I highly recommend attending.

Awesome!
I just enrolled for the two-day school at Buttonwillow. It sounds like fun, and exactly what I need in order to get my competition license for NASA and BMW CCA. Is this good for SCCA as well?

You'll love it!!! It's a really well-run and well-structured school and the perfect environment to start developing your race craft.

I actually did the school originally a few years back with the intention of just getting comfortable in traffic. By the second session on the first day, something in my blood mutated into this sudden desire to start racing, which was never my intention. I've never looked back, though, and can't imagine having to have gone through my first race without doing the DCI race school first.

Be sure to introduce yourself when you get there. I'll be in one of the stealth silver E36M3s.

Yes, I will. You'll see my car as well. Another friend of a friend is racing the enduro race saturday night on a silver M3 267. And another guy from this forum will be instructing.

Well now THAT's funny, 'cause I'll also be racing in the enduro in a silver M3 267. Small world... Your friend is also a friend of mine, apparently. :D

Good school for the $. Took it at Willowsprings last year to get my NASA provisional license. It will help you to be familiar with the track so watch some video if you haven't driven it before.

I drove it last year, 13 CC, and it was fun, eventhough I wasn't feeling well. And it's not that expensive compared to other schools. Basically just $200 over the regular price of running both days with NASA, and you get a lot of instruction.

Actually, that was probably Bob. We're both helping share the driving load and happen to also have similar looking cars. :)
