long story short, i was on my way home from work today driving down pacific coast highway (not the scenic part, the long beach ghetto part), the 2 left lanes were stopped, no one was in front of me so i was going 35-40. the left lanes made a gap for someone in the oncoming lanes to turn left in front of me... when i was 50-60 ft away... so i stopped... but not till i pushed her car onto the curb w/ my bumperless e21 (i don't think the bumper would've done much anyway). i'll have some before and after pics in a few days.

but now i need another clean, solid e21 (mine was about the most rust-free 320 i've seen); i'm daily-driverless (borrowing a friend's car to get to work and back). if anyone knows of anything good for sale in the L.A. area please let me know. i'm picking up tires for my alpina replicas that've been in my living room for several weeks, i was itching for some tires to be able to put them on the car, now that i have the wheels+tires i'll be itching for a car to put them on...

Damn man that blows. Ill be on the look out for you. You going to swap that century kit over to the new E21?

i think you're confusing me w/ someone else, i don't have a century kit. but thanks for the concern either way. luckily all the parts i've put on are in reusable condition, the only casualties (other than the car itself) are a hella and a yellow mercedes light. the 'is' lip is bent but i think it's flexible enough to be able to bolt onto the next 320.

sorry about that man... there are about a handful in craigslist, cars.com, and autotrader...

My bad, there was a guy who went to bimmerfest that had an E21 just like yours, even with the no bumpers and fogs.

what's your budget? i would entertain a serious offer on mine.

right now i don't have a budget for a car, when i get paid friday this check goes to rent, student loans, and credit cards... in 2 weeks i should have a little bit o cash but my budget will be $1500 or less.

i checked craigslist, autotrader, and roadfly and the e21s were either overpriced or project cars. i was lucky when i found the one i've been driving since july-- got it on craigslist for about a grand, rust free and ready to be daily-driven. i'm hoping i can get lucky again...

That sort of accident happens 4-5 times a year in front of my office. a 3 lane road that narrows to 2 lanes 2 stop lights down. Everyone knows it squeezes down so the right 2 lanes are backed up and the left lane is empty. someone always leaves a gap for the cross street and the car darts though the 2 full lanes and gets creamed by the one car rolling down the empty lane at 45. w e lose about 2 light poles a year and there is at least 1 or 2 trucks that roll when the car broad sides them and pushes them over. I hate those people that leave a gap and make a blind run across the lane.

I hope you find a good replacement car and we are all glad you weren't hurt.

i'll get some current pics in a few days, but in the mean time (since i've never actually posted pics of it on bfc) here's some pics of what it looked like 2 weeks ago, just after the bilstein/h&r setup went on:

well i couldn't find a crazy good deal on a daily driver-able e21 so i'm picking up a cheap 325is to play w/ for a while. it'll be fun but the design just doesn't have the subtleties or the character the e21 has...

if it's the one in your sig, it looks like it's out of my budget... i'm getting the e30 for well under 1k. i wasn't planning on buying a car right now so i have next to nothing saved up for it. but if yours is solid, runs strong, and priced 1k or less i'll be all over it.

Yeah, sorry. It is definately not in the 1k or less category. But i think the E21 below mine, the ugly green one might be for sale, and for cheaper than one K!

There's a red one by where Matt, down here, lives. It's an 81 320i I believe. But I know it is a red E21 and it is about $1,300 I think. About that. :dunno

I got a free 78 320i roller for you if you want to tow it the 500 miles from Oakland. I'll give you some homebrew too if you take it.
