Kevin E21 09-26-2006, 10:52 PM I'll be there. Look for me. I'm 6'1" with black hair. I'll probably be wearing a Rammstein T-shirt, and I have a Fjord Blue 320i.
jrcook320 09-26-2006, 11:25 PM Cool, let me know what you find out about that car. It's probably one of the single most sexy bmw's I've ever seen. If I were to build another one, I'd pick either a 3.0 csi or and 6er, and that's what it would look like (if only I had unlimited funding)...

5touringboy 09-27-2006, 05:01 PM I am hoping to be at Bav Auto this Sunday. I will have my 82 320. White with bumper tuck, blacked out trim, and clear corners. I am hoping that it is not a sound fest. It is the wrong venue for noise. I used to have a 3.0Cs. I did a 5 speed conversion, metric mechanic 3.5 with triple webbers (45's). I was a sweet and wonderful beast. Every part that one puts on after stripping it takes two hours. The cars were hand built and very complex. I love the simplicity of the 320 and I am not afraid to park it or afraid to drive it in the rain.

Russ if you go to the show and shine let me know, I would like to introduce myself.
jrcook320 09-27-2006, 06:28 PM Steel braided charge pipes?
Seems like a good idea to me, looks like rubber hose with braided stainless sheathing. DSM's have a lot of rubber hoses for charge pipes, so the rubber shouldn't be a problem. I think the braided stainless looks right at home on that motor.
sil0kin 09-27-2006, 08:28 PM my car club wins alot of stuff at that show. i was gona go but i spun a rod bearing and that means shitty work 2 do. BNG..(bimmers new generation) haha

JTFormula 09-28-2006, 10:09 AM I will be there in the e21 too. You all know what my Bimmer looks like, when you see it say hi.

This (http://forum.blackredgold.net/showthread.php?t=1257) might help... ;)
jrcook320 09-28-2006, 08:54 PM Ah, thanks! It's best to hear it from the man himself. Wow, that car is amazing. I would have never believed that it was pushing 700hp.
jjgbmw323 09-29-2006, 06:36 PM Ah, thanks! It's best to hear it from the man himself. Wow, that car is amazing. I would have never believed that it was pushing 700hp.
see Josh and CJ - I told you guys...and you did not believe me. :rolleyes
Things then proceeded to get a bit out of control when I found a complete low mile e23 745i exec at a local yard. I ended up buying the car for the motor. The motor was boared, balanced, and blueprinted. After that it recieved a custom built turbo by Garret (NOT STOCK KKK27), and the internals were done with forged rods and pistons by Ross Racing. The intake manifold and exhaust manifold were extrude honed, and the Jet Hot coated. The head is a radical custom done by a shop named Head Games in Jersey, the head is also fitted with enlarged sodium filled valves, and a 300 degree camshaft. All of this madness was put under control by an Autronic ECU. In that state (about two years ago the car made 400 rwhp on a slipping stock clutch with a different turbo and a stock cooling system at 18psi). Currently with boost is at about 26psi with a new custom turbo, crazier head, Spec 4 puck non sprung racing clutch, and a higher capacity radiator, we are expecting around 700hp at the wheels (dyno #'s coming soon....)
blitzed310 09-29-2006, 06:42 PM see Josh and CJ - I told you guys...and you did not believe me. :rolleyes
What did I say?
jrcook320 09-29-2006, 09:36 PM Your name is CJ, you're guilty by default! :mad
Joe, I believe the guy, but I still don't see how they're getting that kind of power reliably without an intercooler. At 26psi that intake charge has to be smokin hot. Maybe they're using nitrous or water injection to keep things cool. Or maybe it's intercooled and you just can't see it in the pic you posted. That seems more likely. :dunno
shadyduk1979 09-30-2006, 03:52 PM cleaning the car now:D . i will be there for sure
Kevin E21 09-30-2006, 06:31 PM Just got done cleaning my car aswell. Hope to meet some of you guys. Look for me with a stock Fjord Blue 78'. I have dark hair, glasses, and will be wearing this shirt:

I will be wearing my favorite shirt.
My 323i will not be there, I will be with the Black 2000 roadster NH plates MPOWER and will be wearing the shirt, see you all there.
jjgbmw323 10-01-2006, 04:40 PM The show was excellent but not as big of a turnout due to the fact it rained later in the afternoon. The 6 er and 5 er from CT where not there this year.
I will load pictures when I get home. If anyone wants to add their pics go right ahead...
Marco was there with his Purple e36 RMS Stage II supercharged car,
as was every possible old and new BMW. I saw VTBimmer and Chris at the show, and a few other people.

I forgot my camera, so I don't have any pics, but looking forwards to see some.

waferman 10-02-2006, 12:48 AM CJ, after you are working for a couple of years as an Engineer, can you see yourself picking up an E24 like that? Do you think that you would buy new or go for an older ride that someone else has 'beautified'?
I gravitated toward the same car- I need to drive a 6-series someday to see what it's like..
John
blitzed310 10-02-2006, 01:33 AM I have 2 E24's, and ones built too. You never saw the E24?

I really need to do a photoshoot with the E21 and the E24, it makes me sad.
JTFormula 10-02-2006, 10:23 AM I was there and saw Chris and VT. I went by Kevins blue car but you were not there when I was by. I had my black e21 there. I was behind the building. I couldn't get out of the hotel early enough. Got in the night before at 11pm after working all day then driving 5.5 hours. That gold e30 Baur was behind me for about 20 miles when we left the show. I had a lot of guys passing me here and there all the way through CT. Everyone waved as they passed. As always a NY car won an award that was not deserving because all their friends padded the votes again... GRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
I was glad I was in the back of the lot. It sounded like the Ghetto up front with all the "boom boom boom" playing. As one guy put it... "I bet you those e46's have never taken a corner at speed" describing all the blinged out BMW's that showed up.
I'll post pics soon
MAD LIL E21 10-02-2006, 10:41 AM stupid double post

I tried to get a picture of that car early in the day but he was spending too much time cleaning it and I never was able to snap a shot of it. I dig that 6'er
BaronOfIpanema 10-02-2006, 02:11 PM Nice shots! Looks like it was a great show - and in NYC it was raining almost all day so I didn't make it out.
JT, you don't happen to have the contact for the guy who was selling that henna 320is?
Beautiful e24's, too. Blitzed310, what did you do with your skyblue's door handles?
blitzed310 10-02-2006, 02:21 PM Beautiful e24's, too. Blitzed310, what did you do with your skyblue's door handles?
I went so fast that the paint blended over them. I just carry a slim jim with me. The color is called Cosmosblau
They were shaved.
bigbore 10-02-2006, 03:41 PM Great pics
sucked about the rain their 13th year go figure :stickoutt
nh320i 10-02-2006, 06:51 PM I have the 320is that was for sale at the show. I didn't stay long with the rain and my cast... Didn't think they were a good mix. It was my first show but bad timing with the weather and all.
I have to cut down on some vehicles since winter is coming, and it would be a shame to see that car sit outside for the winter.
jrcook320 10-02-2006, 07:16 PM does that black 6er have aftermarket side skirts or are they custom? It is awesome but needs euro bumpers.

JTFormula 10-02-2006, 09:22 PM Baron on the move for a new car??? I can tell you nh320i has a nice car. Real clean all around including the engine compartment. Not rotted out either with is rare for a New England ride.
OH.... I forgot to mention... The ride home for us was interesting in the rain. My front drivers tire is REAL bald at the edge. When we hit some areas of the road that was very wet, we hydroplaned a few times. Also, exit ramps were a blast as the car was sliding to the outside edge as we were entering/exiting the roadway. It was a grip tight drive home until the roads dried up. I am ordering new tires this week so that doesn't happen again. I don't want to wack a guardrail.
BaronOfIpanema 10-02-2006, 09:36 PM Baron on the move for a new car???
Well, I made a try to get Josh Gore's '78 323 but the planets aligned against it happening - I think - Josh you out there??
My car's body is rusty rusty rusty. Just turned up some new rust inside the tail light surrounds. I'd like to make a move to a cleaner car, and even though the henna is a bit garish, I have to say that it has really grown on me.
It would also be great to have two e21 hennarot in the driveway...:D
jjgbmw323 10-03-2006, 07:11 PM does that black 6er have aftermarket side skirts or are they custom? It is awesome but needs euro bumpers.
I have never seen them before so they are aftermarket of some type?
