Hi,

I have an offer for a new ECU software for my 130i - it's supposed to rise power from 195kW to 210kW and torque from 315Nm to 340Nm. The installation includes dynometer measurements before and after. I'll also have a race catalysator installed in place of the old one, which should give a few more hp, and a new lightweight sound muffler with new roster-steel exhaust pipes that should give the 130i a little louder sound (not that the default sound isn't nice as well.) The software will also rise the RPM limiter 300-400 rpm from the current 6870 limit to about 7200rpm, that'll help do 0-62mph/0-100km/h with just one gear change.

So I was wondering, has anyone here chipped their 130i and what kind of results did you get? I measured mine 0-100 at 5.8 seconds (real 100, not meter speed, to meter 100 I can get in 5.6s), so I'm expecting this should take it pretty close to 5.3 which should give E36 M3's a whipping, and make it even more fun to drive.

Like to hear your feedback if you've put in new software and what kind of figures you've had in the dyno before and after the software change. Also, interested in hearing of other modifications you've done.

This same company could also add 2 more exhaust pipes and a seperate sound muffler from them straight from the engine, but that would cost about $2000 so I decided against it for now, since I suspect the N52B30 is a pretty good breather in 130i - since I've read that the extra 5kW and 15Nm vs. the N52B30 in 330i E90 were achieved by improving the breathing. Then again, the new version of N52B30 in E92 will have 200kW and 315Nm - perhaps by improving breathing even further?

Best regards,

Jussi

Not me and I'm not planning to modify it at the moment.
Note that 1 series is not coming in US so you'll not find any owners here.

For the exhaust Supersprint has just released a full system including headers.

Oh yeah, I forgot this is mostly US-centric forum. Any 1-series forums that would have EU/Asia/Australia users?

Not with those mods, I'm sure ;-)

Good luck I have the E92 M3 on a waitlist. IF it's weight is kept in control, and it won't be a huge monster of over 1800kg like the current M5 and M6, I'll buy it. But I'll probably keep my 130i M Sport as well - because I've fallen in love with it. Just got back from a 100 mile round driving around empty bendy & hilly roads in the dark... I have 3200km+ on it already and I think (looks like it) the tires are almost completely gone ;-)

A light bimmer with the N52B30 straight six is just sweet. Closest thing to an M3 you can get on the regular line. The only BMW I've liked better was the Z4 M Coupe.

Best regards,

Jussi

u are a fucking hectic driver of note, it took me like 9000km to rape both front tyres of my subaru impreza, but u did it in 3200km... big up for that man :buttrock

Yeah, the rear tyres are gone. Front tyres are barely usable. It's good that in a week I'll have to put on winter tyres with studs on anyway... Then buy a new set of non-runflats next spring to replace these Pirelli Euprohias. I gotta say I didn't even try to save them, cause they were so shitty. Usually (at least in my old E46 330Ci) I could get about 10.000-15.000km out of set of 2 rear wheels (Mostly Pirelli P Zero Nero's) But if I had trackdates, that would be completelely different issue. Usually I tried to book the tracks so that my tires were at least 5000km driven because after the track, they were history.

Best regards,

Jussi
