Hi,
I have an offer for a new ECU software for my 130i - it's supposed to rise power from 195kW to 210kW and torque from 315Nm to 340Nm. The installation includes dynometer measurements before and after. I'll also have a race catalysator installed in place of the old one, which should give a few more hp, and a new lightweight sound muffler with new roster-steel exhaust pipes that should give the 130i a little louder sound (not that the default sound isn't nice as well.) The software will also rise the RPM limiter 300-400 rpm from the current 6870 limit to about 7200rpm, that'll help do 0-62mph/0-100km/h with just one gear change.
So I was wondering, has anyone here chipped their 130i and what kind of results did you get? I measured mine 0-100 at 5.8 seconds (real 100, not meter speed, to meter 100 I can get in 5.6s), so I'm expecting this should take it pretty close to 5.3 which should give E36 M3's a whipping, and make it even more fun to drive.
Like to hear your feedback if you've put in new software and what kind of figures you've had in the dyno before and after the software change. Also, interested in hearing of other modifications you've done.
This same company could also add 2 more exhaust pipes and a seperate sound muffler from them straight from the engine, but that would cost about $2000 so I decided against it for now, since I suspect the N52B30 is a pretty good breather in 130i - since I've read that the extra 5kW and 15Nm vs. the N52B30 in 330i E90 were achieved by improving the breathing. Then again, the new version of N52B30 in E92 will have 200kW and 315Nm - perhaps by improving breathing even further?
Best regards,
Jussi
