Excellent unit though! Dan 09-25-2006, 09:19 AM now at a crossroad... i really like to have SD feature since it'll definately cut down on burned CD that's littering in my trunk because, well, i just forgot what's on there plus, only like 10 songs are on each CD. having Aux input is nice since i can plug the GPS (on my ipaq which doubles up as MP3 player but i don't carry it all the time) in. i think i would like to find one with SD input... only makes sense since my gps has a speaker (abeit not very loud) but it offers one. overall, i think having SD is more useful then an input. so, i guess this questions has morphed... need one with SD. thanks! el.duderino 09-25-2006, 10:29 AM I hear that more sd heads are coming in January. Dan 09-25-2006, 10:42 AM I hear that more sd heads are coming in January. can you expand on that? who and what models? thanks! el.duderino 09-25-2006, 12:15 PM No, I can't - I just read in TWICE magazine last week that there would be many being introduced. Article was about August HU sales being down 18% over last year. enyrgee 09-25-2006, 05:23 PM you can always add input plugs in remote locations that are easily accessible - just route them from the rear of the HU to wherever you want them, and mount them. You can get a very nice, clean finish this way, and it doesn't limit your choices of HU. Article was about August HU sales being down 18% over last year. with car makers installing better and better custom radios, it's hard for HU makers to compete. like BMW's with nav, the radio is in the trunk and the display is remotely displayed to the all-in-one nav screen. if someone doesn't have nav, they're going to loose their OBC display if they go aftermarket. you can always add input plugs in remote locations that are easily accessible - just route them from the rear of the HU to wherever you want them, and mount them. You can get a very nice, clean finish this way, and it doesn't limit your choices of HU. Aaron i've decided to go with a HU with SD then aux input. it just makes more sense for playing MP3's and recycling the media. rjnuck 09-26-2006, 04:01 AM I recommend not having a front AUX input. Find one with a rear and wire up an input or else you always have a wire haning around the inside or you car. Had front AUX for awhile then got sick of it and traded out for a read aux |
