bkentopp 09-22-2006, 10:42 PM Did you ever consider a used BMW M5?
I have an 01, each car being equal from the factory. The M5 blows the Cobra away, in performance and handling, Ok not blows it away but I personally feel it is better!:devillook
If you have any questions or concerns pm me.:)
I don't know how much you are willing to spend but, you can find 2002 & 03
M5 anywhere from $43,000.00 - $52,000.00 with around 30,000 miles, with extended leather, park distance control, M-Audio, maybe even sun shades. If you don't know already it comes standard with a six speed.
Cobra740i 09-23-2006, 07:45 AM I did consider a M5. I should have looked at them instead of the 740. Things that would steer me away:
Mod prices
repair costs
I don't know. I've always been a domestic sports car kind of guy, I tried to switch, but no luck.
mrraw 09-23-2006, 02:38 PM nice ride, looks mint
bkentopp 09-23-2006, 03:17 PM Cobra740i,
Understood, mod prices and even oem prices are rediculous!
Cobra740i 09-27-2006, 12:18 PM ttt
greene08 09-27-2006, 12:21 PM I'm selling mine, but I can't argue with black before silver... any luck Cobra?
Boston Killer 09-27-2006, 12:47 PM I think it's a terrific-looking car. But I found myself strangely attached to the PDC (Park Distance Control) that my car has and can't imagine driving an E38 without that feature.
Cobra, do you find your car difficult to park at all?
Anyway, I think for the condition and the mileage it's a great price!
greene08 09-27-2006, 12:53 PM I don't have PDC on mine and spend a lot of time in downtown Seattle, never a problem parking and never hit anything. ;)
Boston Killer 09-27-2006, 01:24 PM I don't have PDC on mine and spend a lot of time in downtown Seattle, never a problem parking and never hit anything. ;)
Yeah, I saw that on your posting on craigslist :)
I guess I am a terrible parker than. I managed to hit both bumpers a few times WITH the PDC :withstupi :mad :help
greene08 09-27-2006, 04:31 PM Haha, nice... then I see the necessity.
Cobra740i 09-28-2006, 08:05 AM No, I have not had much luck at all. I think it is just going to take some time, and I am in no rush.
No, no problem parking at all. Our Expedition has those, but I rarely use them.
eddieb022000 09-28-2006, 08:41 AM i have never seen a black car that clean.... it blows my mind....
I could never keep my car like that in NYC.
How do you not have any rock chips? door dings or anything?
my advice is keep the car, if you really want to sell it you will have to drop your price and its too nice a car to sell cheap
Cobra740i 09-29-2006, 08:18 AM I had just got done washing it that day. It does have a couple of rock chips in the hood, but overall it is a very clean car. The guy before me took very good care of it as well.
thanks,
Aaron
cwmizner 09-29-2006, 06:39 PM having trouble selling? i have a e38 98 750iL for sale, having a rough time...
Cobra740i 09-29-2006, 07:39 PM I am not getting much interest, but I think you just have to find the right buyer. I think it is priced right. I am in no hurry, so it does not really matter to me. Plus, I really like the car, so I don't mind if I have to hold onto it.
Cobra740i 10-02-2006, 01:46 PM Anyone have insight on to why these are so hard to sell. Like I said, I am glad I am not in a hurry!
Boston Killer 10-02-2006, 02:29 PM Insight? Perhaps. Low APR financing available on new cars. High cost of gas. Low gas mileage. High cost of insurance. Pricey repairs and expensive maintenance. I think this is enough to scare most people nowadays.
To Cobra 740I, if you have not received my message from one of the other ways to communicate with you, I not sure of how to use this site, I am new. I am interested. Email pcadwallader003@comcast.net or peter@hpcadwallader.com , cell phone 215-852-3162, my member name is DAX, my name is Peter Cadwallader.
Cobra740i 10-08-2006, 10:50 PM Hey Dax,
Let me know if you did not receive all the pictures I sent. There were about 60 of them.
thanks,
Aaron
Cobra740i 11-02-2006, 11:58 PM Sold.
Boston Killer 11-03-2006, 12:35 AM My condolences...it is a loss for all of us.
Cobra740i 11-03-2006, 11:40 AM Not really, this guy says he is going to mod the crap out of it and turn it in to a 4 door rocket.
Boston Killer 11-03-2006, 12:23 PM ouch...so sad :(
eddieb022000 11-03-2006, 01:39 PM because that would be a serious uptick for the E38 mkt...
-----------------------------------------------------------edit
i just saw your other post about getting close to your ask.
yes the 01 sports with 90-100k miles are going for very cheap, easily under 20k... and if you check the 7 forum someone just picked one up for 16k i believe...
