I Dont Rem I Got Off The Exit Ramp And When I Tried To Put It Into Gear It Would Go [made A Grinding Noise] I Pulled Over And My Friend Came Over To The Car... He Said That The Clutch Was Blown.. When U Would Put The Car Into First It Would Move And So He Started In 1st Gear And Shifted Etc.. To 6 With No Like Grinding Of The Gears They Where All Smooth.. I Bring The Car To A Bmw Store Today And They Tell Me My Tranny [transmission] Is Bad.. There Are Metal Shaving In The Tranny... I Drove The Car There This Morning... Once U Try To Put The Car Into 1st Gear It Moves And Then U Can Drive

I Don't Think The Transmission Is Inherently Bad.

The nut behind the wheel might be bad though. Might want to check it.

Your keyboard's Shift key also has an intermittent issue.

Haha! There really is something wrong with the nut behind the wheel but hey, we all make mistakes. The shift thing is a stupid habit. Thank you

So the dealer diagnosed it as the transmission being bad, right? Ican't really tell from what you've typed above, but I'm assuming you down shifted from 6 to 4?

It's really unclear what you have from the description you're giving, but if the dealer found metal chunks or shavings in the transmission oil - this is a bad thing, and a very expensive thing. There are no parts available for this transmission, and no rebuild instructions. The only thing that can be done when it's damaged is to exchange it with one that has been rebuilt by the factory. Think in the $$$ area of "Oh my gawd!"..
