So I got the car back today from the BMW dealership. They fixed the bent valve. I get halfway home and the damn car dies on me again! Now they are saying it is the catalytic converter that needs to be fixed. And I'm just wondering...would that really stop the car from dieing?

I wouldn't think the cat would have much to do with the car dying. O2 sensors, etc.. will. What's the history here?

umm. 106k miles...other than that the carfax report showed the car getting regular scheduled oil changes and all that and not a single wreck...

I wonder if its the MAF. If you unplug it does the car start back up?

i actually had the O2 sensor fixed because thats what i initially thot was the problem and the guy who owned the car previously had jacked with it somehow. And when i had that done he checked the whole car for electrical problems and said it was good. I believe im going to get the catalytic converter fixed this week and go from there...I havent been driving it much at all and have been driving my other car so i cannot WAIT to get this baby all fixed.
