View Full Version : I'm throwing down the gauntlet, I WILL have the fastest car on BFc
scorch268 09-19-2006, 07:57 PM Well, maybe.
I am looking into building an ultima GTR, dropping in an LS7, and pretending I'm a badass.
Such a cool car that is faster than the Enzo, carrera GT, etc.
0-60 in 2.7 seconds, quarter in the mid 9s, handles like an elise.
Luxury- pfff, who needs it?

Hey bro! Thought you were in a nasty wreck. Glad to see it wasn't you.
...was it?
///M3Vader4dr 09-19-2006, 08:12 PM you can do eeet!
Kyle K. 09-19-2006, 08:16 PM It was most definitely not me. Apparently some look alike mini. :dunno

cody3 09-19-2006, 09:09 PM This might work for those on a budget ... :)
VANCE 09-19-2006, 09:09 PM i think WANT2RACE has built some kind of kit car....it think it has a v-12 in it though
scorch268 09-19-2006, 09:22 PM This might work for those on a budget ... :)
except that is homosexual. I think shaq drives one.
M3/4 LIFE 09-19-2006, 09:25 PM o you definately MUST DO THIS!!!!
hypermotard 09-19-2006, 09:43 PM niiiiice....or the Ariel Atom?
scorch268 09-19-2006, 10:19 PM niiiiice....or the Ariel Atom?
I think I'd enjoy building a car more than just writing a check. Granted the ariel is cool, in the configuration I'd want, it'd end up around 60 grand.
The ultima is much more a wrenchers car. I have already been researching how to drop a new Z06 LS7 engine in this car, making it a reliable, semi-roadtripable (is that a word?), and insane performing machine.
Total cost of this project will probably be around 110K, ouch.
Better start saving, or maybe start a Charitable fund? Who wants to contribute?
VANCE 09-19-2006, 10:20 PM i got 5 on it

Then you have to insure it.;)
I'd rather have a bike that'll do all that stuff, showroom stock, for $10k.
4500 RPM 09-19-2006, 10:57 PM :eyecrazy
Robstah 09-19-2006, 11:06 PM I'd rather have a bike that'll do all that stuff, showroom stock, for $10k.
I'd rather live past 25.

you do realize this is faster than a bike, in both straight line acceleration and in the twisties.
And I won't have to look like maverick from top gun by riding a bike.
MCoupe434 09-19-2006, 11:08 PM When do I get a ride in the STi?
I'd rather live past 25.
Meh.

Not in a straight line... 9s are stock 1L (R1, Gixxer1000, 999 and so on) superbike territory. Hell, there's a BMW that'll pull a 10.5! :rofl
I won't argue with the car being faster in the twisties, but the bike will be more fun... and what really counts in the end?
As for looking like Maverick... I would be OK with that. :devillook

:awink
punknamedjimmy 09-19-2006, 11:29 PM eh, miata still handles better.
Jean-Claude 09-19-2006, 11:55 PM Sure it would make a great trackcar. Beyond that, it would suck driving on the roads.
M3Alpine99 09-20-2006, 12:10 AM if you need a driver... im your man :)
Want2race 09-20-2006, 10:18 AM I have been building a car for about a year and half now.. I would recommend against it!

Care to elaborate? What are you building?
I helped a friend awhile back build an airplane, a lancair IV-P. It was daunting, but I found it rewarding even though I was not the owner :)
Jean-Claude 09-20-2006, 10:30 AM Build a Cobra replica instead. ;)
JJ Byzanz 09-20-2006, 12:32 PM No, build one of these:

Everythings been home made besides the fuel cell.
I have a 2002 Miata engine waiting to go in once its all said and done!
But honestly its a pain in the ass.. PM me if you want to swing by and see/talk!
Kyle K. 09-20-2006, 06:19 PM Miatas had a V12 option in 02? :ponder
angrytennisgal 09-20-2006, 06:25 PM Miatas had a V12 option in 02? :ponder
Snicker, snicker.
Jean-Claude 09-20-2006, 08:22 PM The v12 thing is sssssso not old now. :rolleyes
Btw, I would love to swing by and check it out. Where do u live?
Want2race 09-20-2006, 08:43 PM I'm in Marietta

You never cease to amaze me.. not neccessarily in a good way.
First reaction: "Jeebus tapdancing crizzle, what the function doesn't this guy do?" Seriously, if a post went up about turning a Merc SLR into a speed boat.. I wouldn't be surprised to see that you already did it.
I would however like to see your caterham knockoff, the integrated roll cage is different.. like to see the pros and cons you went through.

haha prettty funny stuff!
Its more a birkin knock off but its really all the same at the end. I liked the style and got some FARo'd numbers for its dimensions.
There are many cage options out there but I think this has the best visability and doesnt look top heavy. It has one draw back in that it lacks anti intrution from the front but I have life insurance for that possibility.
Want2race 09-26-2006, 09:16 AM If you want a HELLA fast car get a Stalker! Stalkerv6.com
Theres an option for the 3.8 liter supercharged v6 from the Pontiac.
I have ridden in 1 of them and its soo fucking fast you cant imagine. I think the one I rode in dynoed @ 330hp and the driver never uses first gear, its SICK fast!

Any new info you have on the Ultima GTR, please send it my way (PM). Thanks!
M3Alpine99 06-21-2007, 05:18 PM Dang this is an old thread...
no7fish 06-21-2007, 05:37 PM Dude, just straight up doooooeeeettt! If you need any design work done you just let me know, or any custom fab/machine work I can put you in touch with the right people.
Those things are frikkin HAWT! Doesn't one of those still hold the track record for the Nurburgring? And I do believe a properly built one of these is faster than 9's... I mean I love bikes and all but seriously, it's a different variety of fun.
edit- BTW, it looks like you'll be on about the same timeline as my mini project so when it's all said and done we'll have to have a heads-up grudge match ;)
